looking for GERMAN(-speaking) beta readers!
Hi there! I finished editing my NaNoWriMo-novel ‘The Assassination of Keiko Ito’ recently and now I am looking for beta-readers! There is no need to actually be German, but since the novel is in German, you should be fluent.
Here’s some info about it:
- short blurb: Kore is an assassin with magical abilities, magic like only girls and women of their land possess. When a boy named Simon asks for her help however, she suddenly decides to do him the favour. They start to look for a most powerful woman named Keiko, who is supposed to heal Simon’s brother of great illness - and who happens to be Kore’s next target. Though it won’t be that easy for her this time. It will be the hardest fight in her life and she still has to figure out who actually hired her…
- 62 000 words ~ 6,5 h reading time
- fantasy / ya / action / thriller
- trigger warnings: there is some fighting going on, so knives/blades/swords and blood are described; there are people dying; mention of abuse; it’s overall a little angsty; mention of transphobia; dysphoria
- The main topic is “Is murder forgivable?” and the heavy weight of decision making.
- There is no romance subplot. At all.
What beta-reading means / what I expect:
I need reliable people to read the book and give me feedback until the end of June. Feedback does not include to correct my horrible spelling and punctuation mistakes but to answer some questions I would hand to you in an extra form (like this one). It also means that you’re not allowed to show it to a third person - this is a strict relationship built on trust. (This also means I need an e-mail address for the google doc.) I don’t need editors! I just want to have some first opinions on it. I’ve never done anything like this before.
Interested? Please direct message me so we can talk! I would give you a google document with the first chapter so you can decide if this is your piece of cake! Questions? Also, message me, or comment below!
/please boost even if you’re not interested or fluent in German so that I can find some betas/ thanks <3
