On Illthdar, there are a number of unique plants and animals and strangers to the planet can't be sure if anything they eat won't have any bad reactions. For people who are native to Illthdar, they know from experience or knowledge passed down from older generations - much in the case of Lerki and his inability to eat a certain type of mushroom which happens to be a staple ingredient in the diet of, largely vegetarian, elves.

The short answer is that I don't have an ebook option at this time.

My current publishing company doesn't have the option at this time. Even if that weren't the case, I'm sorry to say there are issues currently regarding pirating with ebooks. That said, if enough copies of the paperback are sold I intend to go to another publisher - there is a possibility that ebooks would be available then. Otherwise, after other books in the series are released, I may make the first book available on ebook via another method.

Oh boy, the question Date Toshiiro was born to get. See, while Vyxen won't bat an eye at eating something that hit the ground, Date will literally eat anything that's given to him. In part because he thinks it's damn funny grossing his friends out, partly because it's just rude to refuse, and partly because there was once a time when he had only rage in his stomach to sustain him and most people aren't picky when they've been hungry before. Hunger makes you regret the bits you left on plates of the past.
