Hey UK Folks!

I don’t know if you guys saw this, but a dear friend of mine was involved and I think it’s really cool. 100 people from all over the UK and from all walks of life came together to learn and to discuss ideas on what they could do to help preserve nature and secure a brighter and greener future for everyone. They created The People’s Plan for Nature, and I absolutely loved seeing so many different kinds of people from all different cultures and backgrounds get together and problem solve like this. I’m not in the UK, but I applaud everyone who was involved and encourage everyone that can to try and help preserve nature in any way they can, wherever they may be. Even if all you can do is something small. Small does not mean insignificant. Every action we take in combatting global warming and the destruction of natural spaces is a good one, be it joining an activist group, planting a small window box garden or simply allowing dandelions to stay in your yard for longer so the bees have something to eat.

Vote for what you know is right, specifically because it’s the right thing to do, because it could well be the only thing that stands between you and a bleak and horrendous dystopian hell scape of a future. So, while Putin has decided that any Russian who sends money to support Ukraine is a traitor, I'm trying to decide which group to send an initial payment to.

As many are aware, I am a self published author. In the past, I've hosted fundraisers using the @illthdar series. If anyone who wants to support Ukraine but can't for any reason buys one of my books and sends me a screenshot of the proof of purchase, I will make an additional donation equal to the full value of the book itself at the end of March 2022.

Let me make this very clear, by the time my publishing company has taken their share, I get all of £1 per book back, and I am putting myself forward to take a massive loss to help resources reach Ukraine, and basically tell Putin he can go fuck himself.

In addition to this, I am asking fellow writers and booksellers to do the same.

Follow up, I have made an initial donation of £50 to UNICEF. There's a whole host of excellent groups, but of the ones that were suggested to me, this one was the first one that I was able to complete the transaction for. For the others, it may well be down to technical issues due to war damage. I'm not giving up on them, however, and when it comes time to make that second donation, I will attempt them again.

The event has closed. Unfortunately, I did not get any messages with proof of purchase. I still need to look and see if there were any books purchased in March, however; if there are, I will look to making a donation for them.

Hi fun fact, colors do have meaning and there is a legit thing called color theory. The rainbow does have more positive connotations than negative like the @ mintymaiden said. For example, violet is associated with more money, wisdom, and elegance than with blood and death just like the chart shows you. Also, check out "The Designer's Dictionary of Color" by Shaune Addams. Have fun learning something

I like that the presumption here is that "No One On Grumblr Has Heard of Color Theory. Let Me Explain in Depth" rather than simply acknowledging that the VISUAL EFFECTS of this particular color choice, applied in the manner it was, can still amount to "this is a hospital and that looks like blood"

like, color theory doesn't exist in a vacuum. If your design of choice for Hemospectrum Paint is asymmetric splatters and splotches against the wall, or in this case, a shellbeast trail on the hallway's floor, and infographic won't override the viewers' instinct

To be fair, there's only a few places I can think of where you could expect to see rainbow trails of blood. None of them are Earth. I don't know what that says about the folks who see it and immediately go to body drags.

I mean, yes, there but that's very much not Earth so it's included in the "none of them Earth" category. And let's appreciate that not all the creatures from Illthdar stay there - there's two groups of people who see rainbow trails of paint and translate it to blood tracks. One of those is a lover of fantasy, the other is a cryptid.

All humour aside, there are a lot of fantasy stories that employ the use of blood of many colours - Illthdar happens when someone takes the common threads and weaves them into a nightmare baby.
