Our Catching Fire screening took place in an IMAX theater. The Games were shot using IMAX cameras, and as soon as the tournament starts, the screen in your IMAX theater will open to reveal a taller picture. This unique feature lends itself to the scope of the jungle and the gorgeous beach (Hawaii). You really feel like you’ve entered the jungle with Katniss and company. When the Games end, the screen shrinks back down to “normal” size and it’s almost jarring after getting accustomed to the larger view.
so excited i was able to get my hands on this Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of Catching Fire.
They are so rare now.
Not sure how many were made nor how many were given out?
HOW ARE PEOPLE GETTING PHYSICAL COPIES OF THEIR IDS!??!?!
this year Pres. Snow let me use a pic of me and Cato together..
Personal Opinion/Discussions: Catching Fire tickets ON SALE but no midnight releases times
I just bought my tickets for the AMC Double feature of Hunger Games into Catching Fire in IMAX. One thing I did notice while searching/buying my movie tickets is that my theater really didnt have much of a midnight release option for Catching Fire.
(Mind you I live in Miami FL)
The regular HG: Catching Fire movie gave me times of 8pm and 11:45pm, Catching Fire in IMAX gave me a 11:45pm time, HungerGames/Catching Fire double feature both in IMAX and regular view gave me a 5pm showing time.
I went ahead and bought tickets for the IMAX Double feature. So since it starts at 5pm and the movies are each 2 hours and about 20ish mins. I'd be done watching both movies by 11pm; an hour before midnight.
AMC did say they were doing earlier times for fans that couldn't stay out late and what not but I think they should of had the option for midnight release for older fans who can stay out late and want to see it at its official release date and not a day before?
Dont think Im just picking on AMC Theaters only. I did a search for other theaters in my area as well. None of them offered a midnight release time. They were all either 8pm, 9pm or 11pm show times. If thats that case, I personally just think Lionsgate should change the release date to the 21st since we will all be seeing it on the 21st either way.
I did post something on twitter complaining about the showing times and the AMC Theaters twitter found it, even though I didnt tag them in it and tweeted back "The official premiere is 8pm. Get excited!"
I am excited for the movie. Just not excited for the so called premiere times. Starting to think we have seen the last of our midnight releases for BIG franchise movies in our generation.
What about your area? Are movie times the same or do you guys have midnight release options?
