Today I went to the local farmer's market and the nicest girl ever had a booth with only vegan, gluten-free baked goods! They were so delicious and reasonably priced. I might have gone a little overboard, but I had three cookie sandwiches— I had chocolate cookies with vanilla icing, oatmeal cookies with vanilla, and peanut butter cookies with peanut butter icing. This last one was my favorite. Heavenly.
So, today might have been a little crazy food-wise. Especially since I ordered Indian food for dinner tonight (and last night heehee).
Cleaning things up tomorrow! But it was a tasty little vacation day.

Really good post for Earth Day
Turned my paper in today. 13 full pages, hours of work. I feel quite proud of it and I look forward to getting my grade back. Having this finished takes such a huge weight off my shoulders. I actually had a little bounce in my step today knowing that the hardest and most time intensive part of this semester is finally over. Phew.
It's 1:38 in the morning and I think I am finally done compiling research for my 12 page paper. Which is due Wednesday. I feel like I have a solid understanding of my topic and as long as the paper is, I believe that the hardest part is now finished! Tomorrow, I type. And type, and type, and type some more!
Hula hooping break… 30 minutes today!
Look what was inside my chocolate!! COOL!!
Enjoying an early lunch while studying econ. I stopped by the local co-op and got two collard green wraps with quinoa, veganaise, tomato, lettuce, vegan cheese, avocado, and a spicy pickle spread. Delicious! Then they gave me a free orange (YAY!!) and I treated myself to a little square of dark chocolate. Back to studying!
shitty fairweather friend i want to punch you because you make me sad :(
I am so excited. Oh my gosh. So excited!
I just talked to my dad and he said that if the tests come back showing a decrease in bacteria then my grandma can be released from the hospital! This is the first good news I've gotten about her all week. Fingers crossed.
So, my grandma, "Mom-Mom", went into the hospital on Saturday night with a severe kidney infection and was released Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon she was rushed back to the hospital after the infection spread to her blood and heart. She is currently still there being treated with serious anti-biotics. We've all been very stressed and I've pretty much been glued to my phone for any updates because she lives in Pennsylvania with most of my family. Since I found out she was sick I have been trying to get in touch with her so that I can tell her how much I love her and demand that she gets better, but I wasn't able to reach her until this morning. Mom-Mom is 84 and I am very concerned.
This morning I called my dad and asked if he had any updates and he said that she's still in the hospital but that he was on the way to visit her. I told him to please call me, regardless of the time, if he had any news.
Jump to me being in my French class. My phone is in my pocket (it is always in my bag during that class) and I feel it start to vibrate. I check, and it's my dad. I excuse myself from the class and go in the hallway. My dad asks if I have time to talk to Mom-Mom and of course I'm like "oh my god, absolutely". I talk to her and remind her how much I love her, etc. Beg her to take care of herself and let her know that a card from me, my brother, and my mom is on the way. She sounded terrible. Mom-Mom is a fiery woman and she's tough as nails. The voice on the other end of the phone was very weak. I told her to get some rest and she said goodbye to me.
After that I went back to my class and continued French as usual. At the end of the class I went up to my professor to apologize for taking a phone call and explained the situation to him. He then proceeded to reprimand me for having my phone in class. He told me it was disrespectful and unprofessional to have my phone and that it needs to be turned off and stay in my bag for the entirety of class, regardless of the situation. He actually said that I was better off skipping class that day because I was a distraction to my peers and myself. Then he slipped in a half-hearted, "Oh, and I hope your grandma's situation improves."
I walked back to my dorm shocked, embarrassed, and extremely upset. In conclusion, my French professor is a heartless douche and I hate him.
