Wild Grass - for TS3

Please, forgive me…I’m obsessed with 3D grass! :P A set of three beautiful shrubs: - Wild Grass Tall: 1x1, under Shrubs, 0§, 2 presets +1 colourable, vey low poly (20 polygons, 60 vertices) - Wild Grass Medium (1x1, under Shrubs, 0§, 2 presets + 1 colourable, very low poly (20 polygons, 60 vertices) - a default recolor of the gamebase Brambles, gently moving, even without wind :D (4x4, under Shrubs, 5§, non colourable, it overwrites the original brambles)

3D Garden Grass - for TS3

Ok, This upload is intended for finicky simmers, as I am. ;-) I’m always been very disappointed by the flatness of the Sims lawns: I mean, even with a decent texture, every garden looks terribly flat, just like a painted surface. So, after many efforts, I’ve finally reached a quite satisfying result with this 3D Garden Grass (although it shall be used over flat terrains only). It’s a set of five squared 3D grass tiles (not colourable, 0§, under Shrubs, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x), plus a half tile, cloned from the basegame clover groundcover, vith very LOW POLY (each squared tile has only 2 polygons and 4 vertices, the half tile just 1 polygon and 3 vertices….  lower than this…). Last but not least, a Garden Lawn Edging (ubder fences, 0§, not colourable), to define the grass area. packages only: >>>DOWNLOAD HERE

I got asked how I did Hyori’s eyeshadow for today’s photo, so… I hope this helps you out somehow! > . <  Step one : Tifa Eyebag V3  Step two : Juice’s Glitter Eyeshadow Step three : Gosik’s Dreamer Eyeshadow  Step four : S-club’s 3D eyelashes Step five : Gosik’s barely there eyeliner I use Nraas, thus allowing me to use multiple makeup at one time. Hope this helps out some people!

Editing Sims 3 Screenshots with Photoshop, The Easy Way

I have had multiple people ask me how I get my screenshots to look like they do. thesimlife was the latest to ask so I thought I would write a very simple, basic tutorial about editing screenshots in Photoshop in response to him/her. :)

First thing you need to do is take some screenshots. If you want attractive and clear pictures you need to change your setting. No amount of photoshop fiddling can make your screenshots look better if you have all your settings on low.

Here are the settings I have set to play with and take screenshots of sims with:

If you want to take screenshots of landscapes I would up the tree detail, lot detail and draw distance as well.  For some of you, this will make your game slow down. That is fine, it is only for taking screenies and once you are done put your settings back to what they were before.

I do want to point out the importance of the “Edge Smoothing” setting. I wrote a short guide about it here at Sims FAQ. I always have mine on max.

PART 2/2 OF MY 350 FOLLOWER GIFT! Click images to see in (much) higher quality. Why did I make this a two-part gift? Who knows; I’m drunk very often, I’ve likely suffered brain damage. This hair has been in the works for a while, but I’ve only recently scrapped it and started over. Now I believe it looks good enough to use. This hair is called I’m Next To The Bed Where I Saw You because Geographer’s Kites is an incredible song.  This hairstyle was started because I fell in love with this hair’s shape, but not its floating issues. Of course, the very specific and gorgeous shape that this hair needed to be sacrificed to avoid floating issues. This hair probably won’t appeal to everyone, but I really like it. The difference in floating can kind of be seen in the gif above, but I made another image to showcase just how different it is. There are a few potential deal-breakers here. First of all, if you’re a fan of the original shape, you might not enjoy this one (try to think of this as a separate hair, maybe?), I also decided I wanted lower bangs, so if you don’t like them you might not like this; and there is now an open space between the part that used to frame the chin and the chin, so the inside/back of the hair can be seen from the front. If any of that changes things for you, you might think twice about downloading my version of this hair.  Everything is stolen from Cazy, except for the textures, which I made, and the shape, which I heavily modified.  LOD0 is 14,240 polygons and LOD1 is 8,131 polygons.  Both versions are completely standalone, so you can have both, (and other people’s versions (including Cazy’s)) in your game. 

Please don’t post a retexture of my version of this hair until August 13th, 2013.

Wow and here I though I can't have that hair due to massive polycount; but moose made it possible; as those that post the polycount. That's something that every retexturer should try to do(I say try because sometimes it's not possible to get the polycount or it's hard to find)

Wow this post is from 2010 and people till this day are still clueless about hair polycount; I need to know how much poly is in every retex or new hair mesh. Because I don't want my computer to slow down drastically :/ I'm sharing this because um hmm new retexturers need to post the polycount or try to if you can find out how. Same thing goes for hair meshers.

Hey guys! So another fix for y’all, I had a few doubts about this hair in the past because of the terrifying and flabbergasting size of this hair, I know what a tease is but this crazy, ugh. So I did the justice of reducing the width and volume of the hair, I also added a few wisps at the front to make the hair look a little more real and deleted that little section of hair in the back! Enjoy! (:

  • Adjust-Shine action by aWT
  • Polycount: 9,928
