1894 triple cape coat for boys
Vintage Winterwear Collection pt. 11
Here comes another winter coat for your Victorian boys.
This piece has a kind of funny backstory: when I just started working on my previous coat for boys and felt utterly unmotivated to do it, I went to our Sims of History Discord, posted my reference pictures and whined a bit about how ugly and uninspiring they are. That’s all it was supposed to be: a bit of whining, to get the frustration out… But then one of the fellow simmers wrote sth like: ‘Hey, but that triple cape looks cute!’. And then another person wrote the same, and another - and soon it turned into a mini-voting, with literally everyone going for the triple cape. I was very surprised, actually - I didn’t find it especially appealing and, if anything, I find the whole Victorian obsession with making little boys into sailors slightly creepy - but with such a clear favourite, I had no other choice but to make it ;).
Comes in 16 swatches, this time only without trousers (I think it’s meant rather for younger boys, so no long pants - Linzlu’s woollen socks is all they can get :P).
- Base Game compatible
- HQ mod compatible
- all LODs
- custom thumbnail, bump and specular maps, no shine
- tagged as casual and cold weather
- found under outerwear subcategory
- colour tagged
- disallowed for random
- PDN for recolours will follow (sorry, I have to transfer those files between 2 computers because Internet just won’t work properly on the big one, and I once again forgot to put texture file on the USB (-.-))
Known problems: as always, no cape (at least of mine ;)) is perfect, and the more intricate it is, the more problematic it gets. Works quite well in normal gameplay, but posing boys in this one is a nightmare, not gonna lie. Please tell me if you notice any bigger issues!
I hope you’ll like it, despite the small imperfections. Enjoy!
