Random addition I know but do any of y’all know about the short story The Scarlet Ibis where it’s about a young boy with a disabled younger brother and he almost kills him as a baby but then he smiles so he decides not to and then he teaches him to walk and stuff and then the little brother gets sad about a dead ibis in the backyard and people laugh at him for it and then they get caught up in a storm and the little brother dies because the big brother left him behind?

Hey, the ACLU is getting people to send letters to your Reps to have Congress pass the No Kings Act.
This act would make constitutional amendments to ensure that even sitting presidents are held liable for their actions. That NOBODY is above the law.
Their goal is 150k messages sent and at the time of writing this they're about 2.1k off from that goal!
ACLU gives you a prefilled message that you can edit to send to make the process easier, and will send it out for you.
This only takes a few minutes!

There are some ships where I go “I mean, I really like this ship, but at the end of the day, I’m glad it wasn’t canon. This ship wouldn’t work well in actual canon due to story reasons or theme reasons or how the creator(s) would handle them. But I still like the ship nonetheless”
Sometimes I’ll see one of my posts get many more notes than I anticipated and I look at it and I go “really? You all like THIS post so much? I’m flattered! Thank you! But…really? Okay…I guess…”

no but thank you to tumblr. i dont know if its just my little bubble but the outpouring of "yes, this is scary. im scared too, and i care about you. let's get through this together" is making this so much more bearable.
if your dash is all doom and gloom please know you can change that. unfollow, block, follow more positive pages. you do not have to be cynical right now. there is nothing morally good about refusing to give yourself hope. your pain and fear can co-exist with love and faith.
