did ichiruki actually trended worldwide? i love when ichiruki prevails ! !
Oh yes, it happened more than once actually. One time (the manga was still on going) fans informed kubo that “ichigo and rukia” were trending and Ku/bo made a tweet saying he didn’t really know what was going on but he was thankful. The IchiRuki fandom is powerful :)
I spent all day looking into my old hard drive searching for the screenshots I took back in the day, but unfortunately I only found these:
I remember taking these three shots because we were looking at it going up in real time. That event took place during 2012 and it was around the time episode 361 aired, which is when Rukia returns during the Fullbring Arc and gives Ichigo his powers back. Clearly, it was a very relevant moment for us, so the fandom had been planning it for weeks… actually, I believe the earliest it was mentioned was around four months before it aired… or two. I don’t really recall that much, but I do know that we had been talking about it for a long a time. I failed to find the actual tweet where he said that he didn’t know what was going on but that he was thankful, but Google pulled through and gave me these, which were RTs he did at the time from people telling him about the trending:
Also, it saddens me that I don’t have the screenshots BUT I do remember one other time we made it trend and if my memory serves me right we actually did it with the IchiRuki word itself and I remember it mostly because we got it to second place only to be beaten by the Bieliebers whom were EXTREMELY active and aggressive back then and were a really, really hard opponent to face. So we got second place in worldwide trending, but boy, are we strong. I hope some other old timer around here has the screenshots because I’d really love to see them again, those really were the times.
I remember that, it happened in 2011 as well.
On February 1th, 2011, a topic was created in the Ichigo and Rukia - Bleach (Orkut) community, with the idea of putting Ichigo & Rukia in Twitter 's Topical Trendings. The idea came about because of a jpop singer, Koda Kumi, where Brazilian fans struggled to put them in the tts for two hours (if I'm not mistaken) she entered the worldwide. Since the number of fans who combined such a feat was small, why do we who have more than 7,000 members in our community, we could not?
So, the idea of putting Ichigo & Rukia in the TT's.
We entered the tts of Brazil at 01:30 in the morning, this lasted until dawn until at 9:30 in the morning we entered the worldwide and stayed until 21:00 at night, passing Thom Yorke, Amazon Prime, Justin Bieber and others. The highest position we took was the 2nd place.
In addition, tag was in the list of several countries like: Brazil, USA, Singapore and Mexico; having comments in Arabic, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Japanese, among others.
We had the support of @Viz_Media, @Shonen Jump, @bleachPROJECT and from several countries, among them Brazil, Indonesia, USA, Mexico, Chile, Singapore, Arabia and others.
Shonen Jump and Viz Media tweeted 4 times about this and in the end thanked all the fans and put a picture of Ichigo and Rukia on their Official Facebook.
Actually a related word about anime has never been so long in the TTs, the cool thing is that we lost count of how many people said they would re-read / watch Bleach and that they wanted to know the work. We chose the word "Ichigo & Rukia" so that many countries could understand what it was about and soon they would relate this to Bleach.
So in 2012, Ichigo & Rukia appeared on the TTs again, but this time it was the American fandom that took the initiative. It was also in the 2012 movement that Tite Kubo made a comment about this in his official account.
" I do not know what is going on, but it is something I am thankful about"
