"You love her," Tonra said. Sabé froze. "Of course I do," she said. She met his gaze. "It's a complicated relationship. She can order me to my death, and I will go. And she knows it. We've worked so hard to maintain a balance we will never truly have. As far as I can see, she will always pick Naboo, and I will always pick her." – E.K. Johnston, Queen's Shadow

padme’s handmaidens are such an underrated concept. i mean, yeah you can call it women supporting women and leave it at that but like. its so much more intense than that. they basically created the persona of queen amidala together. they assigned her specific mannerisms and tone of voice and breathing patterns and all of them studied that well enough to play the role perfectly. they put all of the derangedness teenage girls put into discovering their own identity into perfecting mimicry instead & they did all that knowing that their role will always be to die in padme’s place if it comes to that. idk what insane levels of devotion does it take to be like 14 and you’ve become so intimately familiar with your friend that you can quite literally become her. there’s friendship & traumabonding and then theres “my entire life is dedicated to dying for this woman” and then there’s that but with added identity fuckery and thats what the handmaidens have going on with the bonus point of being 14
Never mind the “Who shot first?” stuff; THIS is the defining moment of the Han Solo character:
Everyone else was just like: “Oh, fuck: It’s Vader!” and standing around in shock and terror when Vader was revealed. Even Chewie.
Most people, I suspect, would have that reaction.
Meanwhile, Han’s first reaction, instinctively, in less than a second, was to grab a gun and try to flat-out end the guy.
He failed, of course. But God Damn if you can’t appreciate the effort.
Also, he grabs his girl’s hand. Not only is he going to end Vader, he’s going to do so while reassuring the woman he loves that this monster who tortured her won’t hurt her again as long as he’s there to do something about it.
The point of this scene:
Han was nothing to Vader. Not really. Han was just a normal, average guy. Vader didn’t think too much of him.
“I have superpowers; you don’t!”
But then: doesn’t Han show more love, affection, guts and courage in this moment than any Jedi warrior ever could?
Thus, Vader is shown up.
Attempting to kill an evil wizard with a regular gun is one of the most Han Solo things ever. I don’t think most people would even bother trying, because you can’t just shoot Darth Vader, right? Of course not. But Han’s gonna goddamn try it anyway.
Yeah, basically’ Han tried.
Sometimes that’s all you can ever ask of someone.
Just one of many reasons I love this man
With Han, you never have to wonder, “Why didn’t he just shoot them?” Whenever you’d think that, he shoots them.
Han Solo is a practical soul and if he’s got the chance to just shoot them he’s gonna take it
Leia found out and made them hang up that's why it didn't last longer
This is cracking me up..why on earth did they delete his response in the movie!? hes so offended LOL
UNMUTE THIS
sCuM?!
I don’t know why it cracks me up so much that Han’s first reaction is not to attack, or to protect Leia, but to hold her back, clearly assuming that she’s just going to fling herself into the middle of a dozen armored Stormtroopers and start trying to kill them with her bare hands.
To be fair, Leia would. Without hesitation
tumblr was funnier when the reylos were just outright lying all the time
i miss this
luke does, in fact, know his biological dad. in fact. most would argue its one of the most well known scenes in the entire series

I want to explain something that’s happening on Latin American social media.
There’s a dish called “Rosca de Reyes”, it’s a cake with slices of fruit. Inside of it, they place a small baby shaped figure that represents baby Jesus. This year, in Mexico, people were selling the cake with figures of Baby Yoda instead of the baby Jesus. So, conservative groups are extremely upset about it, and are calling it a direct attack to family values and religion. So now, Baby Yoda is considered a LGBT icon for making furious those conservative, homophobic people.
this was supposed to be a serious drawing.
These Tusken Raiders have cats. That is all.
