If you want to characterise Draco as being shy and blushing and awkward romantically then go ahead, but you don’t have to make Harry a suave, confident dude to go with it.

Canonly, Harry is awful when it comes to wooing and romance - he is terrible at flirting. Also canonly, he’s not so bad once he’s actually in a relationship (and neither is Draco - he seemed pretty cosy with his head in Pansy’s lap).

Pairings don’t have to be polar opposites. Harry doesn’t need to turn into something he isn’t to ‘fit’ with your headcanon of Draco (which can’t be argued for or against because there’s no canon evidence what Draco’s like pre-relationship, but there is for Harry)

So have your blushing Draco who stammers through pick-up lines while he tries to talk to Harry to ask him on a date, but imagine how cute it would be for Harry to be equally bright red and getting his tongue twisted as he talks, with both of them flustered little dorks

Yes, thank you!

Awkward, flustered Drarry who can’t figure out how to flirt properly is wonderful

friendly reminder that Harry Potter

  1. at eleven, was described by his teachers as ‘bright’
  2. at the same age, according to the Sorting Hat: “Not a bad mind, either. There’s talent, oh my goodness, yes” and “You could be great, you know, it’s all here in your head”
  3. mastered the challenging Patronus Charm at thirteen and proceeded to teach it at fifteen
  4. resisted the Imperius Curse at fourteen and soon learned to throw it off completely, even when cast by the incredibly powerful Voldemort
  5. also at fourteen, learned to cast a powerful Accio Charm
  6. at fifteen, was training other students
  7. at the same age, under extreme stress, tested as ‘exceeds expectations’ or 'outstanding’ in every subject that required actual magic (including the dreaded Potions)
  8. same age, cast a briefly effective Cruciatus Curse
  9. at sixteen, became a star Potions student simply by following superior instructions
  10. at seventeen, successfully cast the Imperius Curse on his first try, and used it repeatedly
  11. at the same age, cast a successful Cruciatus Curse

Give me sweet established Drarry with exhausted!Harry.

Because Harry has been working so much that he comes home exhausted almost every night. Long hours and busy schedules mean there’s a whole lot more sleeping than sex.

But Harry comes home early one day and he’s so tired all he wants to do is sleep but Draco is curled up on the couch reading a book and in that moment it doesn’t matter how tired he is because he just wants him.

And the kisses aren’t hurried or rushed or desperate they feel sweet and comfortable and full of hope like the first rain on a spring day.

And there’s something sweet and almost awkward about it, with both of them letting out soft laughter as they try to find a rhythm somewhere between the desperation for something they’ve been missing and the comfort of knowing it’s something they’ll never have to give up.

And when Harry sinks into Draco, pressing his face into Draco’s neck and sliding his hands across Draco’s shoulders and down his arms to cover his hands with his own it feels like coming home

Pretty much I’m crying

Marauders- Dueling Styles

  • Sirius is all flourish- maybe it’s the Pureblood upbringing, maybe it’s his proclivity for all things dramatic, but he’s worked out an entirely fluid system of casting and blocking spells. He likes to end his attack with a bang, working his way up to it artfully.
  • James works in tandem with Sirius- but he is all offense. Sure, he knows his defensive spells well, but why waste time with that when he can have his opponent flat on his back in a matter of seconds anyway?
  • Remus is direct and to the point- he doesn’t waste time with flourish. His style is simple and effecient- but if he’s backed into a corner, watch out. What was once control and precision becomes wild and dangerous, and is based more on emotion and adrenaline than spell theory.
  • Peter is more comfortable with the nuances of duelling, but sometimes misses the bigger picture. His wand movements are twitchy and quick, and if you need someone to help you evade or shut down an enemy, he is your man.
