Black Sisters
modern au marauders era: the black sisters (pre-war)
“In the end, the tortures tearing the … girls pointed to a simple reasoned refusal to accept the world as it was handed down to them, so full of flaws.” The Virgin Suicides, Jeffrey Euginedes
The Black Sisters - There were never three sisters as close as these, but despite their constant entanglement of laughter and secrets and limbs and lips, they grew to be three very different Slytherins.
Andromeda: cunning self-preservation Bellatrix: power-hungry ambition Narcissa: resourceful loyalty
Do you ship Bellatrix/Narcissa? I've received a lot of hate for it these days so I was hoping to find some comfort here :/
Hello! I’m so, so sorry you’ve been getting hate for shipping these wonderful sisters, but I’m honored you felt you could come to me for support.
@themalfoymanner and I have actually taken this ship a step further and are planning on writing a fic (we have a few others to finish first, but it’s on the list!) about Bellatrix/Narcissa/Andromeda, focusing on their younger years first where they’re all sexually involved but Narcissa and Andromeda have more of an emotional relationship than they do with Bellatrix, and what happens when Bellatrix starts getting involved with the Death Eaters. I’ve created an edit focusing on Narcissa/Andromeda in the same universe but after the war, if you’d like to check that out!
I’ve been intrigued by the Black sisters for a long time. We get really interesting glimpses of their relationships in the books, and it’s always made me curious for more. Their dynamic especially intrigues me, because as tight-knit pureblood sisters, they’d be close, but their personalities are so different. And their differences would only become more drastic and even dangerous when Bellatrix starts turning darker and Andromeda becomes friends with Ted Tonks and Narcissa has to be some sort of middle ground, trying to hold their unraveling sisterhood together, all while fearing what Bellatrix is becoming and worrying how the family will react to Andromeda’s increasing “blood-traitor” ideals. Their history if they were all involved when they were younger (which, honestly, the Black family would probably encourage because who else is good enough for Blacks besides themselves?) makes it even more interesting when they’re older and Andromeda leaves and also when Bellatrix is in the Manor during the war.
Further more, I see absolutely nothing wrong with shipping sibling incest (or incest of any kind). My favorite ships actually fall under this category, and in general they’re so rich. Incest ships can offer so much, everything from the unending love of family to the crushing guilt of realizing they like one another before it’s discovered that the feeling is mutual.
I love them so, so much, and there’s no harm in it. It’s just fiction, and what you read/write/watch in this world says nothing about the kind of person you. I’ve received hate for incest ships too, and I really just wish people would “live and let ship.” You don’t have to like it or read it, but you should respect that others do and let them do their thing.
I hope this helped! If you still need some cheering up, I suggest taking a scroll through my Black sisters tag. :)

If they made a marauders movie, who would you cast for them? And also next gen cast?
The Marauders I have the most intense feels about are the Blacks and the Malfoys, so they’re the only ones I picture clearly

read your tags and was curious: what do you think draco's boggart would be?
Bellatrix.
I know there are some posts going around suggesting that it would be Lucius. I don’t buy that. Young Draco clearly takes for granted that his ideas will be heard and taken seriously and seems genuinely shocked when Harry doesn’t take his hand/when someone isn’t receptive to him. Lucius might be embarrassed about being affectionate in public, which is all we can see through Harry’s POV, but I don’t buy that Draco lived in a cold, abusive home and that his parents didn’t love him.
Then, Voldemort? Possible. He certainly would be scared of Voldemort, but would he be what Draco is most afraid of? I don’t think so. At least compared to Bellatrix.
Bellatrix doesn’t only represent evil, or the possibility of coercion and torture, the way that Voldemort does. She also represents family for Draco, and a shared bloodline. So Bellatrix is everything Draco would fear about Voldemort plus more - plus the possibility of his family turning on him, plus the possibility that he might have some of that madness and cruelty himself. Bellatrix doesn’t just represent the possibility that he could be subject to depraved evil (though I’m betting she’s tortured him, so she would represent that), but the possibility that that tendency lives inside of him and that he could become like her - unhinged and cruel and subservient and unaware of his own descent into madness. She wouldn’t just be a reminder of the terrible things that did happen, but of the possibility that Draco could lose control and autonomy and agency again, and that it could happen so slowly he didn’t even notice it, and would therefore be powerless to stop it. And that - powerlessness and a lack of awareness and madness, the ways that seeking power can destroy a soul and a family, that those things might be a part of who he is beyond his ability to stop them…yeah, I’m going Bellatrix.
This is amazing and I whole-heartedly agree!
