In Gaza, where life is interrupted every day by harsh conditions and siege, families are forced to seek alternatives for everything that was once part of a normal life. With the shortage and occasional absence of gas, fire has become the only means for cooking, despite the hardship and danger it brings.

Children go out to gather wood, while mothers find themselves facing a fire fueled by pain and smoke. With every meal, smoke rises to choke their breaths and fill their small tents. The food mixes with the smell of burning wood, leaving a taste of bitterness in the mouths of children, who wonder when this suffering will end.

It is a daily struggle that goes beyond simply lighting a fire to cook. It has become a symbol of an unrelenting fight for survival and of families’ stories of perseverance amidst difficult circumstances, searching for a moment of safety and peace to light up the path of their besieged lives.
