Hello, there! Welcome to the World of Bettas!

@iantojonesthebetta / iantojonesthebetta.tumblr.com

Mason/35/Canadian Hello! I started this betta blog Jan. 21st, 2013. This blog was inspired by a red veiltail betta I owned named Ianto Jones (after a character from the BBC series, "Torchwood"). Here, you'll mostly find posts about bettas, as well as other animal-related posts. Now and again, I also share non-animal posts, such as resources for mental health, in case they may help followers/friends. Please see MY PAGES below for my betta care articles. DISCLAIMER: I am not a veterinarian -- just someone that is passionate about fishkeeping. The information that I provide is through my own experience, the experience of other fishkeepers, and plenty of research. Always do your own research as well by checking with a number of sources. I can't stress this enough -- my content is just one source.

Did seven of the ten sets holding a ten-pound weight. Went back to body weight for the last three because my calf started to feel strained.

I'm officially 'fluffy' from doing ab exercises with weights yesterday. Not a great feeling. And I was super hungry today, but I'm trying to be more reasonable with my choices.

Instead of a whole combo from A&W, I asked the caf to make me a veggie sandwich with mustard, and I got some crackers and hummus.

Instead of my giant sushi tray on the way home, I had some extra toast tonight with vegan margarine.

Closer to maintenance tonight.

Celebrating 95 hours of Ring Fit (Most of it was me resting between sets)

Aquarium stuff:

Picture 1: October 23 - Picture 2: November 15.

Aquarium is glowing up faster than I am!

Plants aren't going to be here now until Thursday. That pothos is desperate to be out of there, so I can't wait. Also want to get rid of that artificial plant in the back.

Haven’t posted on here in a long while, but here’s my newest rescue Persimmon, and a lil pic of grumpy Cygnus. When I first got him, Persimmon had some pretty bad fin rot and severe ammonia burns on his gills, causing him to gasp all the time. His tail has healed up beautifully (clean water and Indian almond leaves work wonders), but his gills are still healing and probably will be for a while. He’s a very gentle boy, loves attention and food, and he curls up under the leaves when he goes to sleep, 10/10 very juice fruit would rescue again

Did a water change and the sun decided to come out today for a little bit. Right at the time it hits my aquarium~ 🥰

It's so pretty when the sunlight reflects on the Amazon Sword's leaves like this.

Also it's gotten so big? Like I've never seen it so tall before. Its nearly touching the surface!

Speaking of touching the surface...

My rotala rotundifolia and hygrophila difformis are doing just that lol

I should probably trim it but I love the full look it gives and the fish do enjoy swimming in and around it.

Also the fry that I had floating in a container in this tank all died in the night sadly. But I did pull some additional eggs when they were still alive, though not nearly as many.

There's 6 and out of them I believe 2 maybe 3 are fertile. It's hard to tell for the third one. It looks brown, but mom got it covered in sand so I'm not sure lol

Either way I hope that those that do hatch survive this time. If they do, I won't sell them and just add them to the group I already have. If the parents make some more eggs though, I'll totally pull them and try again!
