Oh just a poem I wrote once that I discovered that I wrote 99 years to the day J.R.R. Tolkien went to war in 1916. I also wrote one of Thranduil and Êlúriel’s most romantic moments on March 22, 2016--100 years to the day of when Tolkien married Edith. I don’t believe in accidents. Everything happens for a reason. So much comes to me and I fear it greatly. With all things good or bad, there is a fear. Fear of success, fear of failure. Fear of loss, fear of gain. Fear of rejection. Fear of acceptance. Beyond each fear there lies something greater than ourselves that gives us courage to go on--especially if you have friends by your side.

three a.m. I let my eyes
open and I breathe out into
the silence of the
moonlit meadow
the futility of hours
have long weighed on me
and I aquiesce to wake
and let them run
my fingers pry loose
the latch and the gate
swings free without sound
and they follow
out they run they gambol
they dance and shimmer
in the bluetime hue around me
like children
painting the walls a mural
of high paced choreography built
from stained glass and
tinseled falls
with warm love and pure
happiness they swing in pairs
singing with laughter making
precious music
a festival of purity
and fate and a testiment to
all that is right and
that should be
