Celebrating MY Birthday: Giving Readers a Gift

Yes, for my birthday (since most of my immediate family forgot I existed–fine for my dad; he suffers from Alzheimer’s and I’m always forgotten as I share this day with Beyonce) I’m giving a gift. It’s small but not without merit. It’s a far better updated version of the Character Appendix. The first one was truly a first draft and out of sorts. This first “official” update has characters from the current book, Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen as well as a few that got left out. But the end of the trilogy, the Appendix will be as long as nice short story–something to look forward to while the rest of the book will make a lovely doorstop.

If you already have one of two copies of the first draft of Book II: The Saga of Thranduil, this will be helpful. I also learned that you can download the book onto Kindle if you have one. Watch for each as they come out–or wait until the entire trilogy is done.

Also, it will be helpful around the holidays:

Brace Yourself: Christmas is Coming.–J.

I could do this all day. It's my birthday. I do what I want. 😋🎂

I’m thinking a 🎄Christmas surprise...🤔

Maybe something for my 🎂 birthday on September 4...(no Beyonce--my day: mine)...🤔

How will Thranduil and Êlúriel handle Nenduîl and Tárimë together? Well, they did raise three kids (Tarthôn, Legolas and Isílriel)--what’s an extra set of twins to do? I might even let you meet Elwen (Elranduil and Ardúin’s daughter--Cousins Elranduil and Thranduil do everything together: adopt sons, have a boy and and a girl of their own; share a great-grandson Aranduil) before Christmas without waiting until the extended version of Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen. I’m feeling good--got some wonderful insights from Beren and Lúthien yesterday (oh, you have no idea) and I have a few new baby elves coming through (Baby Oropher is going to be adorable but even I can’t wait for Baby Thranduil (aka “Li’l Isilya). I wonder what Oropher’s nickname is going to be?

Baby Elves, Elven Children, Teen Elves--got them all. It’s the Secret Lives of Elves (in Middle Earth). You know I may get to have a cat in there? I don’t know yet--I’m just about to leave the Wild Wood and Lake Cuiviénen and make my way to Beleriand. Either way, I haven’t slept yet because I’m so excited. I just have to do something with The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy for my Birthday...and Christmas (the last three weeks went so well). I do have extras, you might say. TONS of exclusives and extras and maybe a dragon or something, @mystarlightblr. I’m not that far yet, but I just ran into something creepy Orothôn’s going to have to deal with before the fall of Ondolindë (Gondolin). I am looking forward to Little Durin (last heir of Erebor) in Dale again, personally (and his buddy Bain, son of Bard II and Aurëwyn (whom just happens to be related to Êlúriel--if you’re confused now, the Appendix is about go from 15 pages to ????+). Shucks, I might spend more time with Aragorn again (coming up)...

[More time in Mirkwood...wow...]

Legolas: You look terrible...[again].

Tired of this stuff yet? You might be but I have relatives that just came back on Facebook...oh, really? Did not see that coming. Now as soon as I get some sleep, I can’t WAIT until you meet a few new elves soon. Amroth has a mommy (but it’ll be a while before you meet Baby Amroth--Baby Amdir, not so much). Baby Celeborn? Probably.

[... ... ... ...]

Oh, God... @thegnotesots and @eeveningpostcomics Saturdays at 6pm...Fear the Funny.

[My contract says otherwise...] Thî, aníron nauth. Until I get some sleep, make a few phone calls, runs some errands, learn to read Tengwar, make an appointment and talk to my dad before returning.....Namárië.

Working...💻

I have over well over 100 new elves and every single one of them will be cross referenced and named using Tolkien's Etymologies and to make sure there are no duplications, I use up to four references (Tolkien, Allen, Tyler and Foster) to ensure they are truly new. The hardest thing? Determining boy names to girl names because there are differences, but sometimes not always about masculine and feminine "identity".

When you see "Thranduiliel" which means "daughter of Thranduil ", I didn't make that up. Tolkien did, but he didn't use it as much as "Thranduilion", son of Thranduil so to speak. So, yeah, it's okay to say something like Arwen Undómiel Elrond(iel), interestingly, though I don't in Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen (more on Lasgalen @tkwrtrilogyhistory or @tkwrtlegends when I finally get back to that while working on Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen @tkwrtrilogy3).

Since there is two versions of The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy--regular and annotated--it's more than just another fan fiction--it is also a serious research project I guess you can say and I've already unearthed tons of things about the elves few people know about that help enhance my story. It's pretty cool, though sometimes hard work. Rewarding, though.

Erebor. Soon, in the annals of Thranduil, the Dwarves of Khazâd-dûm will be driven from their home, through the Rhovanion and into Lonely Mountain. Right now, there is the March To Dagorlad...and Elrond has to assign another commander in place of Adanor, who left with Mãndil to Gondor for some reason we will find out later. But you know not of these men. They are new--men of the Second Age. And there are new elves like Arísil and Elenorn. And new dwarves like Aûrvar and his brother Jári.

Anyway, back to the unwinding adventures of Thranduil. He has a little surprise he has for you...well, I will say two little surprises. Those I cannot wait to unleash onto the world. Let’s just say they are adorable and are two of many he will take care of in his lifetime--outside of Legolas and Tarthôn. They are even more special, however. Just can’t say. Happens in Book III. We are still in Book II. Then comes the times before Thranduil--Oropher’s story in Book I. Wonder what will be there.

The Return of the Elves: Just when you thought it was over, I show up.

Sorry about that. You really can’t write about Thranduil and his life without pulling in nearly every elf in Middle Earth--or anyone or anything in Middle Earth. A near impossible task. I have so much Tolkien research, the crate is too heavy to move--and I am yet done. I can see why it may take time to read TKWR. It had to be as close to canon as possible and when I made that choice, it went from on story to three books, writings, and a legendarium.

I would apologize, but I haven’t had this much fun since the lights went out at the Super Bowl. But it did awaken a follow up purely original story I began a long time ago--that I just learned had its own language for the city of Trassalis--more later (and not pronounced as it looks). I guess what I am trying to say is, the time of the elves isn’t over--Thranduil made them do a U-ie. He also added some new ones--which is almost complete--finally.

Oh, yes...
