Celebrating MY Birthday: Giving Readers a Gift

Yes, for my birthday (since most of my immediate family forgot I existed–fine for my dad; he suffers from Alzheimer’s and I’m always forgotten as I share this day with Beyonce) I’m giving a gift. It’s small but not without merit. It’s a far better updated version of the Character Appendix. The first one was truly a first draft and out of sorts. This first “official” update has characters from the current book, Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen as well as a few that got left out. But the end of the trilogy, the Appendix will be as long as nice short story–something to look forward to while the rest of the book will make a lovely doorstop.

If you already have one of two copies of the first draft of Book II: The Saga of Thranduil, this will be helpful. I also learned that you can download the book onto Kindle if you have one. Watch for each as they come out–or wait until the entire trilogy is done.

Also, it will be helpful around the holidays:

Brace Yourself: Christmas is Coming.–J.

I could do this all day. It's my birthday. I do what I want. 😋🎂

Good news and Bad news...

Bad news first– President Elect Dorito keeps making news and things aren’t refreshing. Keep getting knocked offline everywhere and Tumblr is especially weird. 😔 Good news: I learned how to do the queue thing so I can post more on every Tumblr blog now so you get more story. Yeah, I’m technologically challenged. But someone helped me and now I can do that. 😁 Going to do a test run tonight one blog when the traffic dies down. If all goes well, I can begin to post more story excerpts per book (Book I has started) among other things. Thank you, @moonofmorrigan

Thranduil’s New Schedule: Yes, he finally has one.

It seems to take forever these days for anything to go up on the blogs. Before Thranduil, it was because I was stalling and probably bored and blamed everything on something else.

Now, I blame everything on something else but it has absolutely nothing to do with not working. On the contrary: I spent 16 hours planning the end of Chapter III and the beginning of Chapter IV of Book III recently. Yes, my web provider blamed my erratic connection on the sun. Then the 2016 Election has somehow made it difficult to stay online. Then there was a couple days of bad weather that wasn’t supposed to happen. Next came a hacker across several of my websites that made the news.

For the first time in my life, I couldn’t actually do much. I was shocked–I had no excuse. I didn’t need one because I wake up in Mirkwood everyday. There is something always happening in Mirkwood.

However, finally, I have an excuse. Well, not an excuse, really. More of a schedule coming up. It has been the wildest 3 months of craziness in regards to  TKWR Trilogy ever. It has been an endless fight to try to get something done without interruption. But for the next two weeks, TKWR Trilogy will be on a writing hiatus. That has nothing to do with posting or actually writing. What that means, it will be doing nothing but writing. It’s “writing hiatus” has more to do with putting interested parties to the side until TKWR Trilogy is ready to deal with them regarding the book itself.

I am not worried about them running away–he has a growing interest people from Tolkien’s homeland (he’s on several international Twitter lists I have no idea why, but I do like the “Best Writers List” or whatever it is). But it is time to get Thranduil ready for his ultimate close up–the experts that want to see him yesterday. So, for a while, you’ll get more Thranduil than before as I begin to edit Book II: The Saga of Thranduil and go ahead and continue Book III and the Alternate Version (among other things) on the way.

There is a slight possibility that at the end of the writing hiatus, traffic everywhere might increase and bring in another “where the heck did I go” scenario for which I apologize in advance should that happen.–J.

Thranduil's writing hiatus--that means nothing but writing, oddly enough. Expect more stuff.

Quick! Tag me in More Lee!

It’s the return of the Idiot--and he’s dumber than before...I don’t drink or smoke so I need a vice, @littletesla@leepacesweetfantasy, @peonies-and-poppies, @fortunatelyclevercandy, @leepace-talent-e-beauty. I don’t care if it’s him in a dress...quick..it’s like oxygen when I’m dealing with the demonstrative moron who wanted to know why I didn’t call him yesterday after he told me the day before he’d message me yesterday just now!

#1: I just met him the day before yesterday which was his tomorrow. #2: I can’t call a person without a phone number--that pretty much takes away any hope that he could possibly have any further redeeming qualities to classify him as “human” or “productive at this point int time. #3: He thinks Elves are non-fiction and Lee Pace is a Lounge in either Manhattan or Soho.

Guess what? Welcome to my new blogs: The Lord of the Idiots--The Fellowship of the Morons.

Stop the Press: ONE LAST TIME--Almost forgot one. Oh, and How Thranduil could have had more screen time--just from the original story.

I was working late last night and got so excited, I didn’t sleep as usual, but I read the part of the Hobbit (book) where the Battle of Five Armies took place (and boy, did PJ turn that one WAY around), and noticed that Beorn is rather friendly with Thranduil (and he guards Bilbo with Gandalf through Mirkwood on their way to Rivendell). Found another detail that PJ could have kept in proper order and made another film, but oh, well--I’ll just toss it in this story seeing as it has to do with it--Dáin gives Thranduil emeralds as reward for fighting beside the Dwarves and Bilbo gives him a what? Some necklace that sounds remarkably like the one Thranduil said belong to the wife. No, it belonged to Dáin, actually. Oh, and there is the TINY matter of THRANDUIL at Thorin’s funeral. After all, he is the one that places the Orcrist in Thorin’s hands upon his chest. No matter, small trivial things I have to write in detail from Thranduil’s perspective. But Bilbo receives the title “Elf-Friend” from THRANDUIL when they part company which happens to be after he leaves Erebor with THRANDUIL, Gandalf and Beorn to go back THROUGH Mirkwood on his way back to Bag-End. Wait, there’s more.

He just had a wonderful conversation with Bard and Gandalf before the besiegement of Erebor I cannot wait to share (before and after Bilbo escapes with the Arkenstone and shows up in camp--one moment with Dáin involved). And guess what else Bilbo does? He seems to have been with the Elves during the Battle of the Five Armies. Yes, he did have his moment before Thorin died, but it was after the day-long battle he spend unconscious and had to be told what happened. And there’s more, yes, more. I’ll keep it to myself. You’ll learn sooner rather than later.

Nothing big really, just a few more pages to add--Saturday I’ll still be done with this lovely (currently 330+ page) fan fiction epic adventure about the life and times of Thranduil in a three volume work--which is amazing because his entire life in 21 volumes you have to read with a microscope to find all the vague goodies Tolkien wanted to put in (and he said he wished he had in one of his books). True, I did the research and now off to complete the first draft of the largest of all the books more than likely before it goes off for inspection by the Mythopoeic Society folks.--J.

Thranduil: You mean to tell me now I could have had more screen time?

(Biggest Oops For a Trilogy Award goes to....)

@fortunatelyclevercandy, @bellevox, @cristinaowl88, @peonies-and-poppies, @elven-nicknacks, @storytimeteller1, @lasimo74allmyworld) We could have had LOTS more Thranduil in The Hobbit Trilogy. So much of it, it could have written another trilogy about it. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

I thought I would just say “welcome” to what will be the last book in The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy–Book III: To Eryn Lasgalen–the defining chapter in the life and times of a kingdom that began with Oropher and will end with Thranduil, its greatest king and quite possibly the greatest elven king in all of Middle Earth (Arda).

Just a little welcome from Book III. Set to begin in the next week. Thranduil has a lot more story to tell. It is his last chapter and his enduring legacy. 💫 Thranduil Tárisil Oropherion and the War of the Ring–and more. A surprise return of Êlúriel–in a different form and the coming of Everstar.
