It’s Coming.
Thranduil's burden: After returning home with the remains of soldiers (his father and best friend Melros among them), the agony sweeps over him; his future lay bare before him in his moment of darkness.
I have this plan to let some people have a “look-see”--a short excerpt from Book II: The Saga of Thranduil prior to its actual release; you know--see what people think of in book form. Kind of a teaser, so to speak. See what people say about it and maybe share those readers’ words with Lee Pace. What do you think? No hurry unless you really want Lee Pace to read the book. It’s you know, whatever. It’s just the second draft of the original version and it’s just a book about Thranduil and Lee’s just an actor--who was Thranduil. Thinking out loud. 🙂 No pressure.
Thranduil makes his way to the burial site of his beloved Êlúriel.
After the fall of Smaug, Ardúin (wife of Elranduil) and Êlúriel tell Thranduil of two messengers from Esgaroth and he learns for the first time where Thorin Oakenshield and his company went after their escape--and the Hobbit that travels with them.
Not long after Thranduil returns home from the Battle at Dagorlad, he meets little Orísil, son of Arísil (Council/Commander under Gil-galad) who died in the war. Motherless, he followed his father off to war without his knowing. Elranduil will raise him in his household alongside Ardôr.
