Thranduil makes a confession to his friends after the wedding of his cousin, Elranduil. After a moment, his best friend Melros decides to lighten the mood and even King Oropher shows off his sense of humor.
King Oropher makes his feelings known about the possibility of war (the War in which he would one day lose his life). NOTE: What he knows about Doriath will be made known in Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen @tkwrtrilogy3.
Time to prepare for the upcoming excerpt from Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen. @tkwrtrilogy3, by the way. I finally subdued little Oropher; but his parents need to have a little chat. As for the “son” of Oropher--well, Thranduil is about to deal with more baby elves (which only a preview will be shown; you won’t get the full story until I begin Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen. Just when you thought Aranduil was a handful (or even Eärluin who likes to pick on her older twin siblings Nenduîl and Tárimë), in comes some more. Maybe I should give Legolas another pet. I mean, Lasimë is cute but I think he might need another critter beside a squirrel. I love his horse though--Lasiavas (Autumn Leaf). All of it (and more) coming soon.
The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy: 3-Volume History about the elves of the Woodland Realm (told by Orothôn, Oropher, Thranduil and Legolas)* with one Stand-Alone book: The Song of Seven Rivers about the family of Thranduil’s wife, Êlúriel @tkwrtsongofsevenrivers (coming soon).
*There is actually another book; stand-alone. You’ll have to wait a good while for that one. However, if you’ve been reading Book I and Book II, they talk about it a few times with Iarûr and his son Súriar. (who writes the Prologue of Book I--WIP).
It’s a really long book. It’s size scares a lot of publishing industry people; they think people wouldn’t read over 125,000 pages. 😛 That’s not true--some people have told me they read Book II in one day and it’s well over 500 pages. We shall see upon its next big release, won’t we?
Thranduil stands up to his father over his choice of Êlúriel to be his wife.
One More Moment in time for the Royal Wedding: Oropher speaks to Thranduil early in the morning on the day he will marry Êlúriel. It is very beautiful father and son moment.
A Lost Scene (currently not in the book): Found just in time for Mother's Day. Little Thranduil wakes up one morning with one mission--to find his Nana. After he's properly dressed (not without giving Nenduriel a very hard time), he makes his way to her--in plain view of the court is in audience with his father, the mighty King Oropher.
(It will take time to put the entire thing into Book II: The Saga of Thranduil; I won’t lie--in its entirety, it is even more adorable. Like a few other scenes, it got lost two years ago during an electric storm but luckily was fully recovered).
Thranduil, Elmîr and Melros arrive at court just as Oropher is having one of his many arguments he’s famous for. This day, he’s kicking some serious knowledge while wondering about news from Lórien about the growing power of Sauron.
King Oropher speaks before the Last Alliance before the Battle of Dagorlad. (Gil-galad, Círdan, King Amdir, King Durin III, Elrond, Elendil and Isildur among many including Thranduil).
"You are warriors of the Elves. Warriors of Eryn Galen,” he began. “You have been called to rise against the shadow that has plagued this world since before our time began. It is by honor we fight, bound by duty. For peace it may bring should we end the darkness that has plagued the hearts of many and taken the lives of far more."--King Oropher to his Army in the TKWR:BII by J.M.Miller
