Yep. Pretty Much...
lotr meme: one race → men
Where does my allegiance lie if not here? This is the city of the Men of Númenor. I will gladly give my life to defend her beauty, her memory, her wisdom.
✰ According to Tolkien, Faramir was “modest, fair-minded and scrupulously just, and very merciful”. He mentioned once that he did not invent Faramir, though he liked the character very much. As a soldier in World War I, Tolkien connected himself with Faramir, who only loved swords for “which they defend”. Among the characters, Tolkien wrote, “As far as any character is ‘like me’, it is Faramir”.
Actually, that last hilarious moment is true. Oh, the things you discover reading end notes in volumes of Tolkien.
Haldir: [oh, this I have to see...]
Arwen: You owe me, Aragorn!
Aragorn: Why? I didn’t invite him! Maybe is was Elrond.
Elrond: It’s good to be Elrond.
The men are chivalrous, rugged..tough.
Temperamental.
Bro, who’s the guy in the feather boa?
Be glad it isn’t Dad, Boromir.
Ithilien (Faramir) at night.
Team Leaders So Far:
Team Boromir: 33 Team Éomer: 26 Team Fíli: 23 Team Bard: 12
This is quite unexpected. Well, let us continue on then, shall we?
Team Faramir?
Faramir and Boromir, sons of Denethor, 26th Steward of Gondor. Mother: Finduilas, daughter of Adrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth. Faramir becomes Prince of Ithilien.
(Gee, Amroth sounds familiar--reading?)
I was going to announce a hiatus for TKWR, then traffic started to pick up again on two pages. As much as I need to rest, I love working more. Oh, and yes, you will have to face the Men of Middle Earth again. I do not apologize. I just apologize for the countless new characters you have do endure on top of the ones you already know.
