Tomorrow’s Excerpt on WordPress: A Special Gift.

It isn’t much really--nothing no one here hasn’t read about. But finally, both book blogs are caught up so expect to see posts on Tumblr and WordPress simultaneously. Now for the gift.

21 January 1889, a little girl named Edith was born. I hardly think anyone would have guessed such a tiny little thing would be immortalized by her future husband as the most famous elven beauty in all of the world--Arda that is. But here she is--the lovely face that stole the heart of a young John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. She was his Lúthien Tinúviel to his Beren. Even in death, the world would forever know the story behind the story of eternal love.

I barely noticed while I was writing my story that I had described a new little elfling and one of little Oropher’s new playmates as "an unusually beautiful child with the fairest of skin and the darkest of hair." But the last word written in that part was worth remembering--Lúthien.

And in the next excerpt coming next week, the unusually beautiful child is starting to grow up. Without giving too much away, she delights in moving around a lot much to the chagrin of her father the king and is often found in nature beneath the stars. Apparently, her “ladies” are not much for keeping watch over their ward (ask a very youthful Nimeithel and her sister Valdúril). Among those sent to find her is a rather curious little elfling named Celeborn.

Either way, I’m sure when Oropher has his say, he will have plenty to say to and about Tolkien’s most legendary beauty--so beautiful, she had to be reincarnated for one lifetime was never enough to spend with her.

So at 8 am the world will awaken to a small introduction to Lúthien as a little elfling--her eternal beauty prevalent and as Tolkien once wrote:

“Though Middle-earth lay for the most part in the Sleep of Yavanna, in Beleriand under the power of Melian there was life and joy, and the bright stars shone as silver fires; and in the forest of Neldoreth Lúthien was born, and the white flowers of niphredil came forth to greet her as stars from the earth.”--The Silmarillion (Chapter 10: Of the Sindar)

Happy 120♾ Birthday Edith Mary Tolkien “Lúthien”

I hope you enjoy the introduction of Lúthien in Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen and many more to come. Here: @tkwrtrilogy3

I have the heart of a lion and the soul of an Elvenking. I will take these things into 2019 and in every word, you will feel the flames of strength and courage.

In saying that, I will be rather quiet this week. It’s the first week of the new year and I rose this morning realizing the amount of work I have to do. So I’m working on the schedule I need to follow to stay on top of things. It is a mess but it is a beautiful mess. 🥰 A lot of debuts in 2019.

Thranduil has done it again. A few hours shy of the 5th month anniversary, The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy’s first complete volume, Book II: The Saga of Thranduil reaches 5500. Tomorrow the book will be available for one week. Get ready for it.

So, getting ready for more hard work--really hard work. We're talking 8 books, folks. On December 3, much of what's going on will be revealed in the book's newsfeed. I can say for certain, there's nothing like this in the world. Thankfully, I'm not in this alone anymore. I'm actually excited to see how this works.

Wow. Hard to believe all this began with one writer and one little book I wrote for my father. Now there are many and another author. It’s hard work; but there are so many reasons why someone does something from the heart. I’m glad I get to share this experience with the world and with my new partner. And one of these books will be in two languages (officially). I’m sworn to secrecy for now. But I have a feeling this will lead to something wonderful for readers and (one day) for new writers (and quite possibly artists).

I’ve always wanted to discover someone.

I’m not the most followed writer of this sort, but I have taken this mainstream--beyond the blogs; for now The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy has readers from the first generation of Tolkien fans. Thranduil has done the impossible--appeal to readers from 18-65 from over 87 countries. That is something I know my father took to the grave. Though, none of this was my intention, I’m glad I’ve done it. I’m glad my father got to see some of what will become something beyond imagination.

And now, soon, ONE of these books will be available in TWO languages.

I mean something other than Elvish. Seriously, I think my dad died still thinking I wrote 500+ pages about Thranduil in Elvish. There aren’t enough words in any of Tolkien’s languages to write 500+ pages. I mean, I just used Sindarin to get it done quicker. I have translate all that into Quenya. Oh, and you think Quenya is bad, OH wait until you have to listen to Second Age Adûnaic (the language of Men)..seriously, thank Eru Ilúvatar that Aragorn was raised by Elves--sheesh!

Right, I’m babbling again. Sorry. I just wrote like 10 pages (handwritten) over the weekend so I have like a whole bunch to post so I’m overly excited. I still miss my dad but I know him well. He’d tell me to “shut up already. You talk too much”. (not as much as my mother) I think his spirit was the one that banged on my door Sunday--he used to do that after church every Sunday. Just one loud, long obnoxious bang on the side door. I went to look and no one was there. My cats didn’t hear it because they always beat me to whichever door got knocked on so they can try to go outside. They never woke up. After that, I just got back to work. Yep, I’ll bet that was my dad. Probably learned about the Lords & Kings thing and was telling me--there’s no turning back now. Please, one of my tweets was liked by the official Tolkien Society. I may be over-emotional, erratic, sarcastic and rather annoying but I’m not crazy

Right. So. From one book comes eight from two writers and soon another language. It’s been one heck of an adventure. I’m so glad it continues.

So: in conclusion, soon all these stories will be under one umbrella sponsored in part by The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy: I’ll explain it all on an upcoming date that will introduce the new writer to the world (and all the extras like blogs, etc.) We’re going all out for this one.

Elven warriors Celeborn (his brother Galathil)Thranduil and Ëarmîr discuss their line of defense against the last remaining orc armies at Dol Guldur during the last week of the War of the Ring. Amidst their battle, a ring will fall into a volcano with Gollum.

After laying the mortal Princess Súlelenth to rest, Thranduil has a moment with her mother who just happens to be the former "half-elven" cousin of his late wife Êlúriel. For a moment, he lets himself feel again.

(Please read the last line before you have a panic attack). 😁

Where do I begin? Legolas is gone, Thranduil’s foster son returns from Rivendell and speaks of all he’d seen; familiar name comes up--Bilbo Baggins (and a few more). Elranduil’s grandson Êlenuil’s wife, the mortal Súlelenth falls ill causing her parents from Dale to show up. Her mother just happens to be the former peredhel or half-elven cousin of Thranduil’s late wife Êlúriel. Seeing how much she looks like his wife is near-devastating (and prompted readers to force me to write the extended version over something that happens in the next excerpt). He learns a spellbinding tale as he begins to bond with Êlenuil and Súlelenth’s two children Tárimë and Nenduîl. All this and the War of the Ring is about to come into his kingdom. Just when you thought this was a simple tale about an Elvenking, I went and made things so complicated. Did I mention Êlenuil is the first born royal elf that carries the pure bloodlines of the Sinda, Noldo and Nandor--I just found that out, kinda. That means his kids are like 3/4 elven. They don’t even get to be 1/2 Muggle!

Sorry. Wrong Franchise.

Wait until you read the new and improved EXTENDED VERSION of Book II: The Saga of Thranduil. It’s like watching 24 extra hours of LOTR/HOBBIT Outtakes and deleted scenes only with more characters/scenes in it.

Until you get to the EXTENDED VERSION of Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen. Then it’s like 48 HOURS of LOTR/HOBBIT Outtakes and deleted scenes with more characters/scenes in it. OMG, I can’t believe no one noticed Lasúriel yet. Oh, well...guess you’re gonna have to wait.

The Song of Seven Rivers--the story of Legolas’ mother Êlúriel’s side of the family. The standalone book won't be posted on its Tumblr @tkwrtsongofsevenrivers for awhile but part of the story itself has already begun--in Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen @tkwrtrilogy3. You will see parts of it taking shape if you are reading and doing it closely. It’s like kinda like “The Children of Húrin” only with elves.

People want to know if this is it--will this be the last of it all?

I honestly can’t say. There are a lot of elves in this family. And the Extended versions are left to finish (they are coming). We set free all that was once hidden beneath spiders and webs and buried deep within hundreds of pages of Middle-Earth History. It’s gone beyond what I expected and it never ceases to amaze me or surprise me. I wasn't looking for what I found but I am so glad I did.

He [Tolkien] left us a responsibility to seek to find the best of ourselves--no matter where you find it. So long as you come out the other side of uncertainty a far better person than you were when you started. Give back to others so they might find their better person and so on. Because that is what Professor Tolkien meant when he said “the roads go ever on”.

Sometimes you have to lose yourself to find yourself. What better place to do that than Middle-Earth.

For those still in the dark: I’m up to Chapter XIV--Part I & Part II. WordPress has been good for the OFFICIAL TKWR Trilogy. Tumblr, currently has one thing WordPress doesn’t: The EXTENDED VERSION of Book II: The Saga of Thranduil @extendedtkwrtrilogyend and eventually the EXTENDED VERSION of Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen (TBA) @tkwrtrilogylasttale.

What both will have SOON: A Table of Contents so You can find your favorite chapters and relive this incredibly tangled story of the elves of Greenwood/Mirkwood/Eryn Lasgalen that requires an org chart to keep the growing list of characters straight.

Be glad we haven’t gotten to Book III in its entirety just yet...more twins. (I personally can’t tell Elenadar and Elenatar apart or their twin sons Sîrandor & Sîrandír and Sílrandor & Sûlrandír. Elladan and Elrohir are lucky they only met Elenadar and Elenatar. This could get a little confusing. Ooo...what do you know--I just figured out who’s going to be the fathers of two new baby elves.

Yeah, okay--so, on with the show.

Not that one--that’s Chapter XX.

The Elvenking of the Woodland Realm is Moving On

Scared you didn’t I? No, he’s not leaving Tumblr. He just got to WordPress. No, he’s just been upgraded to being “based on” the works of J.R.R. Tolkien rather than fan fiction.

NOTE: That doesn’t mean I don’t like fan fiction and that it isn’t an awesome genre. Quite the contrary; it’s how most writers get noticed these days (keep doing it). It was as a “fan fiction” that I got the chance to be read by professionals working for publishers. You’ll never know when it will finally pay off.

The only reason I’m changing is because I’ve intertwined so many canonical characters, events with mine to explain a lot of things Tolkien left to the imagination, I have to change course. When people that read first editions of Tolkien back in the day began looking forward to adding The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy to their Tolkien Libraries, I realized that to them, this was not fan fiction--this was another part of their childhood in Middle-Earth.

I am by NO stretch of the imagination Tolkien (nor do I wish to be)--one way to tell us apart should be obvious--I’m a girl; he was a guy. I’m American, he was British. I write in the first person. I am dealing exclusively with elves--and not just any elves but The Woodland Elves. The story is original, but it is sewn into the fabric of Middle-Earth on purpose. I wanted something my father could be proud of. I wanted something Tolkien himself would want to read. I was writing to impress these two men--nothing more or less.

I wanted to learn how to improve universe making. I wanted to understand all that goes into creating a world. There are a lot of books about it but nothing compares of being there. I’m still there--in this world Tolkien allowed me to create for him and the world. I was given a chance to overcome my fear of writing narrative. I finished my first book and started another one. My father will leave this world knowing he saw the day when The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy went from 10 Google searches to 2.8 million. He was here to see comments like “It’s addictive” and “I want this in my library”. I don’t think I could ask for anything more than making my father proud of me. He told me to do this for me now. I kept my promise to him. I was so lucky he stayed long enough to see me fulfill it. I’m going to miss him when he’s gone.

I’ve been given a miracle, I believe. I know when it’s finally all said and done, I’m going to miss every character like I did my mother and I will my father. Knowing it will be something I’m proud I took the chance to do will be as important as the day I received my Masters Degree.

I never knew I would get this far. I was one of thousands. I’m still not even that popular here. I’m just the bottom rung on the Tumblr ladder. I don’t mind. I write because I can’t live without doing it. I write when know one reads and when everyone reads. I don’t think about where its going; I get lost in the moment. I’ve known this was what I wanted to do before I could speak. It is life itself--the very essence of being. It’s my therapy; it’s where I go to put down my thoughts--no matter where they end up. It’s my happy place.

It makes me happy when someone says I inspired them to write. I love other writers because we few, we happy few; we band of brothers--aspire to things some cannot understand. We are closet empaths yearning to feel everything and make the world feel it, too. We should aspire to be as The Inklings; sitting together and talking amongst ourselves about the day and how our work is going without fear. We are all in this together; no one writer is better than another--we’re all going in the same direction. When we go there together, we all become immortal and celebrated like the likes of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Writers should inspire each other at all times. We are the Last Fellowship--those keeping the legacy of writing alive for generations to come.

I am off on another adventure--one just as exciting as the first; it’s future again remains hidden until a light appears and shines on the path for which I go. There is something about braving the unknown that brings a courage we never thought we had. We learn we can do things we never though we could. We find others that become life-long friends. All that came from a book--one forged in the mind of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien over 80 years ago. In that moment, we were heroes, warriors, adventurers--struggling to find who we are and learning we already know; we just have to allow ourselves to be who we are.

It is time.
