The Final Chapters: The Saga of Thranduil–The End Comes April 28, 2017
Ending Book II: The Saga of Thranduil is very hard because it feels like I’ve been with Thranduil for a lifetime–in Elven years, it’s been 3000 years in the Woodland Realm.
But the extended version is not finished, so Thranduil will be still around while Book I takes you way back to the beginning (and he will be in Legolas’ book/extended version).
If it looks shorter, it is. I combined a chapter with another and cut it from 34 to 32 chapters. However, the 33 chapter is in Book III: Epilogue–the last first version story of Thranduil. Just now I realized I have to make another change, but it doesn’t affect this final chapter list for Book II.
It has been a very successful time for Thranduil. Someone once said, he was anticipated–and so he may well be. That is for fate to decide.
As I begin Chapter 27, the current length of the book is 467 pages and 168,359 words (that is important to some people–I still have no clue why), and even with the shortened numbers of chapters, it still will be 500 + pages in the end.
It has been a wonderful journey with Thranduil–even I must admit. Going from not wanting to write this to falling in love with the story and its characters; it has been an affair to remember for sure. There is still more of it to go but coming to the end (again) with Book II, it is the most complete story of the Elvenking created by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is the original story found buried within the history of Middle Earth and with (currently) a cast of 200 + new characters of all creatures, it weaves itself within Middle Earth to tell the story of the Woodland Elves.
I am proud and humbled to been shown the path and blessed to have followed it. The Saga of Thranduil will continue in his son and begin with his ancestors. This was the give that was given; whether it was deserved, I will let time tell and fate decide.–J.
Many thanks to my followers and readers.
While the entire trilogy is dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien, this book is specifically for my father. He was the reason to start this journey that began with Thranduil:
“From your Daughter: You will forever be my Thranduil and I will forever be your Legolas.”
Hello...made some minor changes. Shortens the book but not the story. You will hear Thranduil again--in his own words. What an incredible and unexpected journey I will cherish for the rest of my life. ☺️
