I don’t think I’ve ever put more love and effort into a singe piece of fanart ever in my life, and this is literally the first ISaT related thing I’ve made. I just needed a Siffrin to stare at me from my desk since I was too late to get the plush.
@claytale @iamabagfullofcats i’m crying a little too hard to form words but thank you, thank you, a hundred times thank you for this wonderful, wonderful gift sorry for the noise in the video my friends were messaging me because i was so excited about this and i just
the details are incredible from the folds to the bow and just—the colours pop and—i just
i’m just
so grateful
thank you
You are absolutely welcome, hon! I’m just glad that he got to you safe and sound, and that you like him so much!! 83 Claytale was exceedingly cooperative and patient with me throughout the process - ‘twas they who enabled this marvelous opportunity! I hope he watches over you well from whatever perch upon which you bestow him!
I finally took my second smol Sans outside and made some good pictures!
Handmade posable doll, his limbs (including fingers) are bendable, 5 inches tall. Made from polymer clay and copper wire. This one has canonical pink slippers, no fur at the hood + I got inspired and made him a ‘bad mathematician” t-shirt from absolutely awesome Insomnia comic by @wilyart!
More pictures under the cut :3
this is a thing of beauty
the sculpture in the atrium of the Mount Holyoke College library
OKAY BUT THIS IS AMAZING
THIS IS A GLASS BLOWN SCULPTURE THAT IS 12 FEET TALL
YOU WANNA KNOW HOW TALL THAT IS COMPARED TO ME?
THAT’S MASSIVE
Taken from this article right here,
As the light changes, Clear and Gold Tower resembles tongues of pale fire, shimmering plant tendrils, or wisps of mist, all spiraling improbably upward as if embodying the aspirations of the Mount Holyoke community.
Chihuly’s elegant and energetic sculpture soars some 12 feet in the skylit courtyard and comprises more than 450 handblown glass elements. Each section is highlighted by fragments of 24-carat gold foil, creating a shining sculpture that seems to move organically. Sophisticated theatrical lighting will vary with the ebb and flow of natural light, ensuring that the sculpture sparkles day and night.
Chihuly designed the sculpture with the library’s courtyard setting in mind. A sixteenth-century wellhead in the middle of the space serves as the sculpture’s base. Serendipitously, both have connections to Venice, long a center of glassmaking. The marble well was once the source of drinking water on the Venetian island of Murano when glass art was at its height there.“Chihuly has been inspired by the Venetian glassmaking tradition and has worked there on and off for decades,” Stomberg said. “One of his first ‘tower’ sculptures was installed in the Doge’s palace, and our tower relates directly to that. And the colors are very much in keeping with the feeling of sixteenth-century Venice.”
