When the whumpee loses enough blood that they’re not really sure what’s going on around them anymore, and they start looking around, trying to spot the caretaker even though their vision is kind of blurry. The caretaker being right beside them, and gently cupping their cheek to get their attention, then trying to keep the whumpee’s attention as others work to save them. The whumpee trying to stay conscious and keep their focus on the caretaker, but it becoming increasingly difficult to stay awake. The whumpee eventually passing out, but the caretaker continuing to stay with them, and gently stroking their hair, hoping to provide them comfort even while they’re unconscious.
When the whumpee has to travel somewhere in a car for some reason when they’re still horribly injured and in a lot of pain, and there isn't any good way of easing the whumpee’s pain. The caretaker sitting in the backseat with the whumpee while one of their friends drives, and them cradling the whumpee’s head in their lap. The whumpee letting out little pained noises whenever the car hits a bump, and the caretaker gently stroking their face and hair, trying to soothe them. The whumpee leaning into their touch, and eventually ending up half asleep, in too much pain to really be able to rest, but too exhausted from the whole thing to really be awake. The caretaker eventually getting tired, too, but not allowing themself to sleep, because the whumpee needs the comfort, and the caretaker is determined to do everything they can to make the car ride a little bit more bearable.
When the whumpee and their team are doing a training exercise in a cold, snowy area, and the whumpee gets very, very cold. The whumpee not mentioning it to any of their teammates, because they’ve only been on the team for a short time, and they don't want to be an inconvenience. One of their teammates noticing them shivering, and slowly becoming more and more out of it, and telling the leader that the whumpee needs to get somewhere warm. The leader ending then training for the day, and as soon as they’ve all gotten inside, them going over to the whumpee and asking if they’re ok. The whumpee trying to brush off their leader’s concern, but their leader seeing just how out of it they are, and noticing that the whumpee is barely even shivering anymore. The leader rushing them over to sit down somewhere comfortable, and the rest of the team helping them get the whumpee’s winter gear off before the leader wraps them in their arms. The whumpee being too cold and out of it to protest, and their teammates wrapping the two in blankets, then one teammate going to make whatever hot drink they have on hand. The leader settling in to hold the whumpee for awhile while they warm up, and as the whumpee curls into them, the leader deciding that they need to have a conversation about the importance of being honest about problems as soon as the whumpee’s recovered enough.
When the whumpee is rescued and brought to the caretaker, weak and exhausted. The caretake rushing to comfort them and wrap them in warm blankets, and the dazed, disoriented whumpee making noises of protest, not understanding what’s going on. The caretaker shushing them, gently stroking their hair as they try to get them to relax. The whumpee eventually drifting off, and the caretaker sitting there, playing with their hair as the whumpee sleeps.
When the caretaker finally gets the badly hurt whumpee home, and immediately brings them to the bathroom where they keep a giant first aid kit. The caretaker gently patching them up, whispering quiet reassurances as they clean and bandage all the whumpee’s bleeding wounds, then settle them into bed, covering them in soft, warm blankets. The whumpee just letting them guide them around, too out of it to protest, and them falling asleep within seconds of their head hitting the pillow. The caretaker sitting with them all night, watching as small patches of blood begin to show on the white bandages, but deciding not to change the bandages until the whumpee’s gotten some more rest, just incase it would wake them up.
When the whumpee is in a lot of pain and every movement hurts, but they’re in a situation where they can save lives if they keep going, so they do their best to ignore the pain. The caretaker knowing better than to try to stop them, and just preparing to care for them as soon as they’re done. The whumpee finally saving the last person, and barely making their way over to the caretaker before they collapse. The caretaker catching them and gently lowering them to the ground, their medical supplies already laid out, and beginning to patch the semi-conscious whumpee up. The whumpee trying to stay awake, but rapidly beginning to lose consciousness, and the caretaker noticing and telling them it’s alright if they pass out. The whumpee passing out, and the caretaker breathing a sigh of relief, because now they can patch the whumpee up without causing them any more pain.
When the whumpee is hurt and only semi-conscious, and their teammates are driving them to somewhere where they can properly care for their injuries. One teammate holding them and cradling the whumpee’s head against their chest as they quietly talk to them, trying to keep them awake but calm. The whumpee being too out of it to know what’s going on, but hearing the soothing tone of the teammate’s voice, and focusing on it, trusting that they’d make sure they were safe. The teammate holding them like that for the entire drive as the rest of the team worries around them, even though they all know the teammate will take good care of the whumpee until they can properly treat their injuries.
When the whumpee is finally rescued, but they’re barely even conscious, and the only thing they keep muttering is that they won't tell the whumper anything, and that their teammates will come and save them. Their worried teammates rushing them out of the cell the whumper had kept them in, the strongest cradling the whumpee gently as they bring them back home. The whumpee slipping in and out of consciousness on the way, but never really ending up coherent. The team’s medic patching the whumpee up as well as they can once they get back home, and then the entire team settling in to wait for the whumpee to wake up for real. The whumpee waking up fully hours later, surrounded by their worried teammates, who proceed to fuss over them for the next couple weeks, because hearing them mutter those things when they rescued them made them realize just how much the whumpee went through to protect them, and they want to thank them.
When the whumpee gets lost and separated from their team outside in the middle of winter without warm enough clothing, and they can't find their way back. Them eventually getting tired and giving up and just curling up in the snow and trying to stay as warm as possible, and eventually falling asleep. Their teammates finding them there after hours of frantic searching, and immediately rushing the half-frozen whumpee back to the car they’d arrived in, and covering them in every coat they could find as one of their teammates holds them close to try and share body heat. The whumpee waking up as another teammate drives the car back towards the closest of the team members homes, and immediately curling closer to the teammate holding them, seeking as much warmth as possible. The teammate hugging the whumpee tighter as other teammates wrap the coats around them more securely, and whispering soothing things to the whumpee, who still is only half coherent, then turning and telling their teammate to drive faster, because they really need to get the whumpee somewhere with real blankets and warm drinks.
When the whumpee ends up stranded in the woods and is hurt badly enough that they’re unable to walk, so the caretaker has to carry them out. The caretaker stumbling their way through the underbrush, trying not to jostle the whumpee as they desperately try to get them to medical attention. The whumpee slowly becoming less and less aware of what's going on around them, until they faint completely and the caretaker has to carry them the rest of the way to civilization so they can get medical attention. The whumpee waking up safely tucked into a bed, already having been patched up, and looking around to see the caretaker asleep sitting up in a chair bedside their bed, clearly having been too worried about them to leave.
When the whumpee wakes up in pain, and doesn't remember what happened or how they got there, so the caretaker has to explain everything to them slowly and carefully, because the whumpee is still pretty out of it. The caretaker gently stroking the whumpee’s hair as they talk, hugging them as soon as they’re done explaining, and answering any questions the whumpee has. The caretaker tucking them in tighter and offering them water, then making sure they’re as comfortable as possible, and that they’re resting, knowing that the whumpee may still be too out of it to actually remember any of their conversation, but content to explain everything again if needed.
When the whumpee gets badly hurt halfway through a long solo mission, but they have to push through the pain and finish it anyway, and they can barely even stand by the time they get back home. Their team rushing to them the moment they see them, helping them to a seat, and immediately starting tending to the whumpee’s wounds. The whumpee being so out of it by that point that they can barely follow what’s going on around them, but knowing that they’re safe because they hear their teammates’ voices, and letting themself get patched up without any kind of argument or resistance. Their teammates finishing patching them up as quickly and carefully as possible as the whumpee loses consciousness, and the strongest one carrying the whumpee to bed, where the rest of their team gathers to wait for the whumpee to wake up, too worried to leave them alone.
