When the whumpee is badly hurt, but others are as well, and they try to pretend their injuries aren't that bad so the others will get treated first. Their teammates believing them at first, but quickly realizing that the whumpee isn't being honest, and forcing them to get treated as soon as possible. The whumpee trying to protest, but giving up as soon as they realize that their teammates aren't fooled. The whumpee getting treated, and being told that if they had waited much longer for treatment, things would have gone a lot worse. Their teammates all scolding them when they hear this, and making the whumpee promise to be honest about the severity of their injuries in the future, because their teammates couldn't bare to lose them over something easily avoidable.
When the whumpee is in a lot of pain and every movement hurts, but they’re in a situation where they can save lives if they keep going, so they do their best to ignore the pain. The caretaker knowing better than to try to stop them, and just preparing to care for them as soon as they’re done. The whumpee finally saving the last person, and barely making their way over to the caretaker before they collapse. The caretaker catching them and gently lowering them to the ground, their medical supplies already laid out, and beginning to patch the semi-conscious whumpee up. The whumpee trying to stay awake, but rapidly beginning to lose consciousness, and the caretaker noticing and telling them it’s alright if they pass out. The whumpee passing out, and the caretaker breathing a sigh of relief, because now they can patch the whumpee up without causing them any more pain.
When the whumpee has seen their teammates get hurt too many times, and decides to try to protect them, even at their own expense. The whumpee jumping in front of a teammate to protect them, and getting badly hurt. Their team rushing them to medical attention, and the teammate who they’d protected feeling horrible that the whumpee got hurt protecting them. Once the whumpee wakes up, the team questioning them about why they jumped in front of the teammate, and the whumpee explaining that they didn’t want to see them get hurt. The team explaining to the whumpee that while they understand now, none of them want to see the whumpee hurt either, and asking them not to do it again. The whumpee apologizing, but not making any promises, because they know they can’t keep them.
