When the caretaker notices that the whumpee is looking a little bit pale, but they think nothing of it until the whumpee starts to sway during a conversation. The caretaker starting to reach out to steady them, and then having to lunge to catch them as they crumple to the ground. The caretaker having no idea why the whumpee passed out, but gently getting them onto the floor, and settling the whumpee’s head in their lap. The whumpee coming to as the caretaker checks their pulse and tries to figure out why they passed out, and the caretaker asking if they know why. The whumpee admitting that they’d been feeling a little under the weather, and hadn't been getting much sleep, and the caretaker gently scooping them up and carrying them to bed, then making them stay there until they think the whumpee is okay.
When the whumpee gets sick, but instead of resting, they decide to ignore it and try to push through it. Their teammates noticing that the whumpee seems off, but not realizing that the whumpee is sick until they end up collapsing. The whumpee waking up in bed, tucked under warm blankets, and finding that all their teammates are there, worried about them. Their teammates scolding them for not resting or telling anyone that they were sick and the whumpee admitting that they thought they could push through it, because that’s what they’ve always done before. Their teammates asking them what they mean by that, and the whumpee explaining that nobody had ever cared, and that they’d always been told to push through it. Their teammates all being heartbroken by this, and making the whumpee promise to tell them if they get sick again, then caring for the whumpee as they recover, trying to show the whumpee that they care about their wellbeing.
When the whumpee is already exhausted, but their team is very busy, and they decide to help, even though they don't really have time. Their team not realizing just how much the whumpee has to do, and welcoming their help, unaware that the whumpee’s only getting a couple hours of sleep a night. The whumpee eventually passing out while helping their team, and their teammates surrounding them as they try to figure out what happened. The whumpee waking up after a minute, and their teammates getting them to admit how little sleep they’d been getting. One of their teammates carrying them to bed, and them all making sure the whumpee doesn't get up until they’ve gotten at least a full night’s rest. The entire team working together in the future to make sure the whumpee never pushes themself like that again, because they feel horrible for not noticing what was happening this time.
When the whumpee finally escapes from the whumper, and they found out important info while they were being held captive, but they’re badly hurt and the information is time sensitive. The whumpee struggling to make it to their team so they can pass along the info before it’s too late, and when they eventually make it to them, barely managing to convey it before they pass out. Their teammates patching up the whumpee and dealing with the info they’d brought, then settling in to wait for the whumpee to wake up. The whumpee waking up surrounded by their teammates, and immediately starting to repeat the info, because they were too out of it to remember telling them, only for their teammates to shush them and explain that they’d already told them. The whumpee then allowing themself to relax, and going back to sleep for another 8 hours, because they trusted their teammates to deal with the info, and they knew they could finally get some rest.
When the whumpee gets hurt in a combat situation, and they can't get to safety on their own, and they don’t think anybody is going to realize that they’re missing and come back for them. One of their teammates noticing that the whumpee is missing within a few minutes of their team starting to regroup, and them searching for the whumpee until they find them. Them getting a medic to the whumpee, and the whumpee passing out as they move them to somewhere to have their wounds treated. The whumpee waking up in a warm, soft bed, surrounded by their teammates, all of whom look overjoyed to see them awake, and realizing that their teammates care about them more than they had thought.
When the whumpee is hurt badly and really shouldn't move, but they’re alone and they have no way to contact anyone for help. The whumpee forcing themself upright and staggering until they find other people, then collapsing, in too much pain to continue moving. The whumpee passing out, hoping someone will get them help, and waking up an unknown amount of time later, not quite sure where they are at first. Them looking around, and realizing that they’re in the hospital, and one of their friends is sitting at their bedside. The whumpee feeling incredibly relieved as their friend starts fussing over them, because the strangers helped them, and they’re finally safe.
When the whumpee has special powers, but using them completely exhausts them, and they end up in a situation where their powers are the only thing that can save people. The whumpee pushing them to use their powers for as long as possible to try to save everyone, and barely managing to succeed before they collapse from the strain. The caretaker carrying them home, knowing that they just need a lot of rest, and tucking them into bed. The whumpee waking up with a pounding headache, and taking a moment to realize their safe, then noticing the caretaker sitting beside them. The caretaker being relieved to see them awake, and doing everything they can to help the whumpee rest comfortably, and answering any questions they have about what happened before they’d passed out.
When the whumpee starts hiding injuries they think are minor, but they misjudge one, and it ends up being severe. The whumpee passing out in the middle of a team meeting, and their team being confused for a few moments, but realizing that the whumpee has internal injuries when they take a closer look, and them rushing the whumpee off for proper medical care. The whumpee waking up in the hospital with their team around them, and their team taking a few minutes to let the whumpee wake up fully before confronting them about hiding the injuries, and making them promise not to hide any injuries in the future, no matter how minor they seem, just in case they’re not actually minor.
When the caretaker hears a knock on the door, and they open it to find a beat up whumpee looking back at them. The whumpee saying hello in a dazed voice, and then collapsing into the caretaker’s arms, leaving the caretaker to scramble to catch them. The caretaker taking a moment to catch up mentally as they hold the unconscious whumpee, then carefully hauling them inside and setting them on the couch, and running to grab their first aid kit. The whumpee drifting back to consciousness as the caretaker digs through the kit for something to clean the whumpee’s injuries with, and the caretaker gently questioning them about what happened as they carefully clean the cuts on the whumpee’s face, apologizing quietly every time they flinch from the stinging of the antiseptic.
When the whumpee ends up stranded in the woods and is hurt badly enough that they’re unable to walk, so the caretaker has to carry them out. The caretaker stumbling their way through the underbrush, trying not to jostle the whumpee as they desperately try to get them to medical attention. The whumpee slowly becoming less and less aware of what's going on around them, until they faint completely and the caretaker has to carry them the rest of the way to civilization so they can get medical attention. The whumpee waking up safely tucked into a bed, already having been patched up, and looking around to see the caretaker asleep sitting up in a chair bedside their bed, clearly having been too worried about them to leave.
When the whumpee is recovering, but they try to resume their everyday life while they’re still weak and shaky. The caretaker noticing that they don’t really seem up to everything they’re trying to do, and keeping an eye on them, but trusting them to know their own limits. The whumpee ending up fainting because they pushed themself too far, and the caretaker feeling guilty about it, because they saw that something was wrong, and they didn't step in.
When the whumpee faints while doing something physically strenuous, but when they wake up, they want to go right back to the thing they’d been doing. The caretaker having to stop them and force them to rest, sitting with them to make sure they don't get up and try to sneak back to do the activity they’d been doing. The whumpee being incredibly frustrated with the caretaker, and trying to sneak past them when they leave for a few minutes, but being caught by the caretaker, who arrives just quickly enough to catch them when their legs give out, and then hauls them back to bed, scolding them as soon as they’re settled, before the whumpee admits that the caretaker was right, and promises to stay in bed.
When the whumpee hides a wound because they’re afraid of the caretaker, and they think the caretaker will be mad at them for getting hurt. The whumpee collapsing due to blood loss from said wound, and the caretaker only then finding out what is wrong. After the whumpee wakes up, the caretaker asking the whumpee why they didn’t tell them that they were hurt, and feeling terrible when the whumpee admits that it was because they were scared of the caretaker.
When the whumpee has pushed themselves so far past their limits that they pass out in the middle of an important meeting, but their friends didn’t even know anything was wrong before they fainted.
A wonderful type of whump: when the whumpee has been in a situation where they have been under a large amount of both physical and mental stress which causes them to push beyond their limits (ie, responsible for leading a large group of people during a risky situation for a long period of time), and when the pressure is finally taken off them, they collapse.
