wilson fisk is literally involved in human trafficking and extortion but he treats one woman with consent and tumblr is like what a great man towards women.

I’m pretty sure that post is just pointing out the fact that he doesn’t pursue her or push her into saying yes. I can’t think of any instances right now, but I’m sure we’ve seen some “heroes” continue to ask once a woman refuses, so that’s something…

We’ve only seen him interacting with only like 3 women–Vanessa, Gao, and his own mother–all of whom he treats with respect, arguably. He’s seen his mother being abused by his father, so he at least values women enough to back off when they say no.

Nobody’s praising him on high for being such a gentleman or anything. I think the post was just saying that his treatment of women (or at least the women he respects) isn’t one of the things that makes him the “bad guy.” He’s a lot of things, but he would never pressure a woman he liked into anything that would make her feel unsafe. Idk, I just think that’s worth mentioning.

What I love about Wilson Fisk is that when Vanessa initially rejects him, and then later says she doesn’t know if she wants to see him again, he respects that and is like alright if you’re not interested I’ll just get on with my business and he doesn’t push her into anything so I guess the takeaway is if a man who bashes peoples heads off with car doors treats a woman better that you do, you need to rethink some things in your life

Rewatching that Daredevil episode when Fisk shows up after Matt’s fight with Nobu, and it occurred to me that Fisk could have easily found out who the Masked Man was if he wanted to. Matt’s blood was ALL OVER that warehouse, and Fisk could have had the cops he’s paying off run a DNA test concluding that it’s Matt Murdock’s blood.

Fisk could have found out his identity, his perceived weaknesses (blindness), his life. He could have taken Matt down with that information, or expose his identity and put him in the public eye like Matt was going to do to Fisk.

Does Fisk want to know who the Masked Man is? Does he care? Or maybe he just wants to use the Masked Man as an enemy to publicly blame for the “disease plaguing the city”?

Cause I’m pretty sure a guy like Fisk is way too smart not to try and figure out who the guy is if he wanted to, and he’s definitely smart enough to think “hey, let’s DNA test all this blood and find out who he is!”

Did the thought legit never cross his mind? Is this just some kind of plot hole, or did Fisk not want to find out who the guy in the mask is?

You know one thing I really love about Daredevil?

I love that we had an entire episode completely dedicated to Wilson Fisk’s fucked up childhood. Bullied kid. Abusive dad. Horrible, guilt-inducing outcome. Trauma that understandably scarred this man for life.

We felt for him. Sympathized (even empathized) with his pain. Were able to see exactly how those childhood experiences shaped his trajectory into adulthood (down to the minutae of his eating habits and sartortial choices- down to tiny character details).

But in the end, his actions weren’t justified. His pain wasn’t an excuse. In the end, Wilson Fisk chose to be a terrible human being who did terrible things to other human beings, and that was hammered home time and time again through the rest of the season.

That’s what I want to see in villains. Give me backstory. Show me how awful it was. Sell it to me.

But also show me that you believe that evil actions, destructive actions, when performed free of coercion or duress, are always a choice.
