I love when Kili says ” I’m not afraid!” to Tauriel because with this we can see that Kili knows that what he is feeling for her is something ” wrong” but he’s not afraid of the consequences. He knows that is something wrong but he will not give up!

NO NOT AGAIN !!! can we just!!! i can’t get over it!!! In dos when we see kili pouring out his emotions, he is realizing no matter how much he wants it, it will never happen. When he says ‘she is far, far away from me’ and ‘she walks in starlight’ he is realizing how really, truly far away tauriel is from him. They can never be. She is an elf, she ‘walks in starlight in another world’ he knows she will never be his. Not even when they die. And when he says it was just a dream, his voice cracks with pain, and he sounds so bROKEN and it almost seems like he’s given up perhaps

BUT

here, he is and his hope and courage are still holding up. HE IS NOT AFRAID. He doesn’t even hesitate to ask her to leave with him. Look how easily he declares his love. BECAUSE YES, WHAT HE IS FEELING IS DOOMED BUT HE DOESN’T CARE. HE WILL NOT GIVE UP ON IT. IT IS REAL AND HE WILL CHERISH IT FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE

Kili doesn’t get enough credit for his emotional courage. When he knows something is right, he doesn’t back down. His feelings aren’t a passing crush, he knows it, and he seems to be completely at peace with that, despite it being “wrong”.
