PSA:   Include Jewish people in your lists of minorities that are being negatively impacted by this right now. Antisemitism is real.
K but ya’ll are racist as fuck so. No.
My boy just snapped a Jewish dude w/ Trump 16 stitched into his kippah sssoooo nah
^^^^^^^^^
This is the face of antisemitism.
Fuck both of you.
Oooh I met a minority who was mean once so the ENTIRE GROUP is now bad and I’m gonna act like their plight is invalid and like they’re not targetted by the KKK and neo-nazi groups.
GENTILE SJW, YOU GOT ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SAY?
There were black people who voted for Trump. There were Latino people who voted for Trump. Hell, I bet there was even a Muslim or two that voted for him. The majority of Jews voted for Clinton (71%) and yet we seem to be the only one who are being told we don’t have a right to be scared or angry because of our minority.
More proof that the age old standard of blaming the Jews for anything that went wrong is far from dead.

My republican dad, who always votes republican, and like everyone else in my family, is Jewish, voted Clinton.

And just yesterday the white supremacists were saying Sieg Heil and saluting like fucking nazis

So FUCK OFF and include Jews in your lists of minorities who are in serious danger in this administration

Unarmed Black Man With Hands Up Shot By Police.

Charles Kinsey, 47, a behavior therapist from South Florida was shot in the leg three times by the police in North Miami while laying on the ground with his arms up and trying to help his patient with autism who had run away from a group home.

It all started when someone called 911 and said there was a man walking around with a gun. However it was Kinsey’s patient who was sitting on the ground cross-legged, playing with a toy truck.

Charles got shot by police despite telling them he was only trying to help his patient.

The police shot him, handcuffed him and left him on ground bleeding.

North Miami police have not released much information at all. They haven’t released the officer’s name, they haven’t given us an update on the investigation. However, they did say that the state attorney is now a part of this investigation.

Why You Shouldn’t Support Donald Trump: Master List

I’ve probably missed a few things too.

Anti-Latinx racism

  • “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best…They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” (x)
  • Trump supported his claim that Mexicans are rapists by incorrectly citing an article claiming 80% of immigrants are rapists. What the article actually said 80% of women from Central America are victims of rape with coming to America. To which he responded “Well, somebody’s doing the raping! I mean, sombody’s doing the raping! Who’s doing the raping?” (x)
  • “Jeb Bush has to like the Mexican Illegals because of his wife.” (x)
  • Two brothers, inspired by Trump’s anti-immigration speech, attacked a 58 year old homeless Latino. “Donald Trump was right they need to be deported,” they said. When Trump heard about the incident he insisted that his fans were just “very passionate,” and “they love this country and they want this country to be great again.” (x)
  • “I’m leading in the Hispanic vote, and I’m going to win the Hispanic vote. I’m also leading in the regular vote.” (x
  • “I don’t think it’s a small percentage, it’s a lot.“ - When asked why he’s painting all 11 million undocumented immigrants as rapists. (x)
  • “I will build a great wall — and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me —and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.” (x)
  • “Jeb Bush is crazy, who cares that he speaks Mexican, this is America, English!!” (x)
  • When Latino journalist, Jorge Ramos, tried to asked Trump questions about his immigration stance, Trump had him removed. As Ramos was being removed Trump told him to “go back to Univision.” (x)
  • “Druggies, drug dealers, rapists and killers are coming across the southern border. When will the U.S. get smart and stop this travesty?” (x)
  • “The Oscars were a great night for Mexico & why not — they are ripping off the US more than almost any other nation.” (x)
  • Michael Cohen, Trump’s right hand man who often speaks in his place, has said that Trump will have to win over Black voters because “other minority groups won’t support him.” “I’m talking about now like Hispanic coalitions that … will not support Trump. The ones that don’t like Trump aren’t even here legally and they can’t vote, so it doesn’t really matter, right? And I understand their point of view. They’re — they do not want to be asked to leave right? And go back where? Go back to their homes? You know they don’t want to. So I understand.” (x)

Anti-Black racism

  • “Laziness is a trait in the blacks. … Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yamakas every day.” (x)
  • “Our great African American President hasn’t exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Baltimore!” (x)
  • “I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.” (x)
  • “A well-educated black has a tremendous advantage over a well-educated white in terms of the job market. … If I were starting off today, I would love to be a well-educated black, because I believe they do have an actual advantage.” (x)
  • When a Black protester, Mercutio Southall Jr., shouted “Black Lives Matter,” at one of his debates Trump told the audience “Get him the hell out of here, will you, please? Get him out of here. Throw him out!” His supporters then attacked Southall and shouted racial slurs while kicking and punching him. As the protester was escorted out, the crowd chanted “all lives matter.” (x)
  • In reponse to the incident above Trump said that Southall was being “so obnoxious and loud,” and backed up the violence by saying “maybe he should have been roughed up.” (x)
  • “I have a lot of fans, and they were not happy about it. And this was a very obnoxious guy who was a troublemaker who was looking to make trouble.” -Still defending the violence Mercutio Southall Jr. experienced at his rally. (x)
  • He tweeted a false crime statistic report on his Twitter account that showed low crime rates for white Americans and extremely high crime rates for Black Americans. It said that white victims of murder is caused by Black people 81% of the time, when the number is actually 14% It also said that white murdered other whites at 16% rather than the true 82.3% The infographic was also accompanied by a Black man pointing a gun with a bandana over his face. The image used originated from a neo-nazi’s Twitter account. (x)
  • When Bill O’Reilly called trump out on his false statistics he said that he’s “probably the least racist person on Earth.” And rid himself of responsibility by saying he didn’t tweet that image he just retweeted it. And thought it was ridiculous that O’Reilly expected him to fact check every statistic. (x)
  • “Sadly, because president Obama has done such a poor job as president, you won’t see another black president for generations!” (x)
  • “And if you look at black and African American youth, to a point where they’ve never done more poorly.  There’s no spirit.” (x)

Anti-Asian Racism

  • “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” (x)
  • “I know the Chinese. I’ve made a lot of money with the Chinese. I understand the Chinese mind.” (x)
  • “Who the fuck knows? I mean, really, who knows how much the Japs will pay for Manhattan property these days?” (x)
  • During a rally, Trump talked about making deals with Japan and China and used broken English and a cartoonish accent to immitate an Asian. (x)
  • Joe Choe, a Harvard student who calls out politicians on their inaccurate statement, was interrupted when questioning Trump with “are you from South Korea.” (x)
  • Trump admits that he may have implemented the Japanese internment camps. “I would have had to be there at the time to tell you, to give you a proper answer. I certainly hate the concept of it. But I would have had to be there at the time to give you a proper answer.” He then went on to defend it by saying that we do questionable things to win wars, and complained that we no longer win because of it. ““But you know war is tough. And winning is tough. We don’t win anymore. We don’t win wars anymore. We don’t win wars anymore. We’re not a strong country anymore. We’re just so off.” (x)

Anti-Native Racism

  • Trump made comments about members of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe saying “They don’t look like Indians to me. They don’t look like Indians to Indians.” (x)
  • He spoke in support for the Washington Redskins name by saying “I know Indians that are extremely proud of that name. They think it’s a positive.” (x
  • Trump has stated that he would “immediately approve the Keystone XL pipeline,” if elected president. A project that interferes with sacred sites and water supplies for many Native people. (x)
  • Trump funded ads to stop casino from being built in New York. In the ads they said things like “The St. Regis Mohawk Indian record of criminal activity is well documented.” The ads used hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia and asked “Are these the new neighbors we want?” (x)
  • Recently Mt. McKinley was changed back to it’s original name Mt. Denali, which is the name the indigenous people of Alaska originally titled it. Trump said that this change was a “great insult to Ohio,” which is where President McKinley was born and never even visited Alaska. He has pledged to change the name back to Mt. McKinley if he gets elected. (x)

Anti-LGBT

  • “It’s weird. You see these great players with these really long putters, because they can’t sink three-footers anymore. And, I hate it. I am a traditionalist. I have so many fabulous friends who happen to be gay, but I am a traditionalist.” (x)
  • “I’m not for gay marriage. It’s not an argument that’s been discussed with me very much. People know it’s not my thing one way or another.” (x)
  • “I just don’t feel good about it, I don’t feel right about it. And I take a lot of heat because I come from New York.” (x)
  • “I looked at her name, and somebody brought this up to me: ‘Jennatal.’ Those are the first letters of her name. And it’s ‘genital.’ And I’m saying to myself, ‘Hmm, that’s strange, could there be an ulterior motive?’” - On transgender Miss USA contestant, Jenna Talackova. (x)

Ableism

  • Trump mocked reporter, Serge Kovaleski, at one of his rallies. Kovaleski has arthrogryposis, a rare, congenital musculoskeletal condition that limits the movements in his arms. Trump imitated Kovaleski by holding up his arms and flailing them and used a mocking, incoherant voice. (x)
  • After backlash for mocking Serge Kovaleski, Donald Trump said that he didn’t make fun of him and didn’t even know the guy, despite meeting him throughout the years and outright saying “you gotta see this guy,” before making fun of him. He then claimed that Kovaleski was “using his disability to grandstand.“ (x)
  • Charles Krauthammer, a conservative critic, called Donald Trump a “rodeo clown,” Trump mocked Krauthammer for being disabled. Krauthammer is paralyzed from the waist down, and Trump said he could not believe that he was being called names by someone who could not even “buy a pair of pants.” (x)
  • The title of his newest book is called “Crippled America.”
  • Donald Trump has shown interest in appointing Michael Savage to head the National Institutes of Health a man who had this to say about autism: “I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’” (x)

Islamophobia

  • He’s repeatedly said that mosques and Muslims in the United States should be surveilled, even to go as far as saying we should shut down all mosques. (x)
  • Trump was asked by a reporter if he would implement a database to track all Muslims to which he responded he “would certainly implement” that database. He denies saying this, even though it’s on video. (x)
  • He said that he personally saw “thousands and thousands,” of Muslims cheering, dancing, and burning flags in Jersey City when 9/11 happened. He lated clarified he saw it on television, but there is no proof to back up this claim. (x)
  • At a rally a man said to Trump “We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims…But anyway, we have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question. When can we get rid of ‘em?” Trump responded that he’s going to be “we’re going to be looking into that.” (x)
  • After some backlash Trump released a statement saying that he just meant they would be looking into the “Muslim training camps,” and that it “was referring to the need to protect Christians religious liberties as his previous statement says and nothing more.” (x)
  • He has proposed a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States including Muslim citizens who are currently abroad. (x)
  • When his proposed Muslim-ban was met with controversy he responded that “something has to be done,” and “What I’m doing is I’m calling very simply for a shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” (x)
  • “The United Kingdom is trying hard to disguise their massive  Muslim problem.” (x)

Anti-Semitism

  • While giving a speech for the Republican Jewish Coalition Trump kept spewing Jewish stereotypes to the crowd. “"Is there anyone in this room who doesn’t negotiate deals? Probably more than any room I’ve ever spoken.” “I’m a negotiator, like you folks.” and “You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money.“ (x)
  • “The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yamakas every day.” -Playboy interview

Sexism

  • His ex-wife, Ivana, said she was “violated,” by Trump during their marriage, and use the word “rape,” to describe a particular incident. She later said she didn’t use the word rape in a literal sense, but still says that she “felt violated.”   Michael Cohen,  special counsel at The Trump Organization, defended Trump by saying “You cannot rape your spouse.”  (x)
  • In response to unreported sexual assault in the military Donald Trump commented “What do these geniuses expect when they put men and women together.” (x)
  • “It’s certainly not groundbreaking news that the early victories by the women on ‘The Apprentice’ were, to a very large extent, dependent on their sex appeal.” - From his 2004 book How to Get Rich
  • “You know, it doesn’t really matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” - From and interview in Esquire magazine
  • “I mean, we could say politically correct that look doesn’t matter, but the look obviously matters, like you wouldn’t have your job if you weren’t beautiful.” - Trump to a female reporter
  • When lawyer Elizabeth Beck requested a break from a 2011 deposition to pump breast milk, “He got up, his face got red, he shook his finger at me and he screamed, ‘You’re disgusting, you’re disgusting,’ and he ran out of there,” according to Beck. (x)
  • “There are basically three types of women and reactions. One is the good woman who very much loves her future husband, solely for himself, but refuses to sign the agreement on principle. I fully understand this, but the man should take a pass anyway and find someone else. The other is the calculating woman who refuses to sign the prenuptial agreement because she is expecting to take advantage of the poor, unsuspecting sucker she’s got in her grasp. There is also the woman who will openly and quickly sign a prenuptial agreement in order to make a quick hit and take the money given to her.” Trump’s 1997 book The Art of the Comeback
  • “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America.” - Now deleted Tweet by Donald Trump (x)
  • According to New York Times columnist Gail Collins “During one down period, I referred to him in print as a ‘financially embattled thousandaire’ and he sent me a copy of the column with my picture circled and ‘The Face of a Dog!’ written over it.” (x)
  • Trump said that Arianna Huffington, founder and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, “is unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man- he made a good decision.”
  • Talking about Megyn Kelly at the debates: “She gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions… You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.” (x)
  • About his own daughter: “she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.“ (x)
  • “You know who’s one of the great beauties of the world, according to everybody? And I helped create her. Ivanka. My daughter, Ivanka. She’s 6 feet tall, she’s got the best body.
  • “I’ve known Paris Hilton from the time she’s 12. Her parents are friends of mine, and, you know, the first time I saw her, she walked into the room and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?’ … Well, at 12, I wasn’t interested. I’ve never been into that. They’re sort of always stuck around that 25 category.”
  • Gloria Allred represented Ms. USA contestant Jenna Talackova, a trans woman, and said that Trump needs to stop focusing so much on genitals after he joked about her client. He told TMZ “I think Gloria Allred would be very, very, very, very impressed with my penis. I think she would have a whole new image of Donald Trump.” (x)
  • “Excuse me, you dropped to your knees? It must be a pretty picture. You dropping to your knees.” Trump said in response to Brande Roderick on an episode of “Celebrity Apprentice.
  • Trump on women: “You have to treat ’em like sh*t.” – direct quote from New York Magazine.
  • “She’s not giving me 100 percent. She’s giving me 84 percent, and 16 percent is going towards taking care of children.” TIME issue May 2011

Global Warming Denial

  • Donald Trump has tweeted 44 times (and counting) about how climate change was a hoax because it was cold and/or snowy and he did this mostly in the winter.
  • “I’m in Los Angeles and it’s freezing. Global warming is a total, and very expensive, hoax!” - Tweeted in December (x)
  • “It’s snowing & freezing in NYC. What the hell ever happened to global warming?” (x)
  • “With the coldest winter ever recorded, with snow setting record levels up and down the coast, the Nobel committee should take the Nobel Prize back from Al Gore. Gore wants us to clean up our factories and plants in order to protect us from global warming, when China and other countries couldn’t care less. It would make us totally noncompetitive in the manufacturing world, and China, Japan and India are laughing at America’s stupidity.” (x)
  • “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” (x)
  • “We should be focused on clean and beautiful air-not expensive and business closing GLOBAL WARMING-a total hoax!” (x)
  • “This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice.” (x)
  • “It’s freezing and snowing in New York—we need global warming!” (x)

More Bullshit

  • “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, OK, I hate to tell you.”
  • “Let golf be elitist. When I say ‘aspire,’ that’s a positive word. Let people work hard and aspire to some day be able to play golf. To afford to play it. They’re trying to teach golf to people who will never be able to really play it.” (x)
  • Klan leader, David Duke, has given out his support for Trump as president saying Trump “understands the real sentiment of America.” “I praise the fact that he’s come out on the immigration issue. I’m beginning to get the idea that he’s a good salesman. That he’s an entrepreneur and he has a good sense of what people want to hear what they want to buy.” (x)
  • Trump wants to do away with birthright citizenship. When Bill O’Reilly told him that couldn’t happen due to the 14th Amendment, Trump said "Bill, I think you’re wrong about the 14th amendment and frankly the whole thing about anchor babies.“ He then claimed his lawyers found holes in the amendment and it wouldn’t hold up in court. (x)
  • Trump has repeatedly talked about “taking the oil,” from other countries and it is often repeated when he talks about his policies for the Middle East. He’s even said that we should take the oil because “In the old days, you know when you had a war, to the victor belong the spoils. You go in. You win the war and you take it… . You’re not stealing anything… . We’re taking back $1.5 trillion to reimburse ourselves. (x)
  • After John Oliver made negative comments about Donald Trump, he tweeted that he was asked to be on his show Last Week Tonight and refused his “very boring and low rated show.” However, Trump was never even asked to be on the show. (x)
  • He was actually one of the people mad about the Starbucks red cups not being Christmasy enough, suggesting we should boycott the company. He then said “If I become president, we’re all going to be saying, ‘Merry Christmas’ again. That I can tell you.” (x
  • He was one of the main people behind the “birther,” controversy - claiming that President Obama was not born in the U.S. He even said he had an “extremely credible source,” that told him Obama’s birth certificate is a fraud. He said he would reveal all his information he had when he had proof and nothing ever came of that. (x)
  • In general he falls into the group of people who believes there is a war on Christmas. “The word ‘Christmas’ – I love Christmas. I love Christmas. You go to stores now, you don’t see the word ‘Christmas.’ It says ‘Happy Holidays’ all over. Remember the expression, ‘Merry Christmas?’ You don’t see it anymore. You’re going to see it if I get elected, I can tell you right now! (x)
  • “We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what’s happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, ‘Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.’ These are foolish people.” (x)
  • Not only does he not support raising the minimum wage, he also believes that the wages are currently “too high.” (x)
  • And finally these are his fans and this is how Ann Coulter introduced him at a rally in Iowa.

Honestly I tried to read the whole thing but I couldn’t get through because I became so angry I nearly smashed my phone. This guy is shit.

I read everything and god, my head hurt so much

10 Reasons to Hate Donald Trump

1. His ex wife admitted that he forced her into sexual situations.

2. He wants to spend billions of dollars of our already dwindling budget to build a wall to stop Mexicans from coming into the country.

3. When asked hard hitting and relevant questions by a female he avoided them and went on to blame it on her period.

4. He gave out a senators private number out of spite.

5. If he can’t fix his hair how can we expect him to fix our economy?

6. He accused all immigrants of being rapists.

7. He believes immigrants stealing jobs is actually a thing.

8. He believes that sexual assault is to be expected when men and women are put together.

9. He’s disgusted by breast feeding.

10. He’s overall just a sexist, racist bully who uses his money in order to push people around.

I’m not even american but oh my god don’t let this scumbag be your fucking president

11. He wants to shut down all mosques, though he knows that it may be illegal

12. He wants to make all Muslims wear a badge and carry an ID that says that they’re Muslim

Remind you of anything?

Reblogging again for that^

13. He said that autistic children just need to be properly disciplined and that people suffering through depression and PTSD are acting as though they’re the first generation to struggle with these issues.

everyone needs to see this

14. He wanted to set up a “humane deportation force” That would rid America of Illegal immigrants.

Eerily enough, the Nazis had proposed a similar idea of wanting the Jews out of Europe; to set up a deportation force to exile the Jews from Europe. (source)

Wake up America. You are literally voting for the modern Adolf Hitler

15. He made fun of a NY Times reporter’s disability.

16. He said that if he would date Ivanka if she wasnt his daughter.

nazism is illegal in germany. using nazi greetings and flying nazi flags is illegal in germany. why isnt the kkk unconstitutional in america. why arent white hoods and white supremacist propaganda illegal here. why.

Because germany is ashamed of their bigotry. America is proud of it.

whoop there it is

because we have freedom of speech ???? this is one of the dumbest posts I’ve ever seen.

Freedom of speech doesn’t equal full freedom to terrorist groups conspiring to wipe out entire populations of people this is the stupidest thing you have ever said

I’m going a little off topic here but there are Neo-Nazis in Europe, and since the swastika is illegal in pretty much all of Europe do you know what they use instead? The confederate flag from the American Civil War. The flag represents racism so much, that Nazis have adopted it as their symbol.

Freedom of Speech is literally just that we can’t be arrested for just saying something. We were given that right because the king of England would have people arrested for saying negative things about him.

Seriously, if you really wanna understand the rights the Constitution gives us, study WHY the founding fathers gave us those rights in the first place. Their reasons were the experiences they had under England’s rule and during the Revolution.

Freedom of Speech does not give you the right to form a hate group. Neither does the Right to Peaceably Assemble, considering the KKK isn’t peaceable.

I went to the mall, and a little girl called me a terrorist.

My name is Ela.  I am seventeen years old.  I am not Muslim, but my friend told me about her friend being discriminated against for wearing a hijab.  So I decided to see the discrimination firsthand to get a better understanding of what Muslim women go through.

My friend and I pinned scarves around our heads, and then we went to the mall.  Normally, vendors try to get us to buy things and ask us to sample a snack.  Clerks usually ask us if we need help, tell us about sales, and smile at us.  Not today.  People, including vendors, clerks, and other shoppers, wouldn’t look at us.  They didn’t talk to us.  They acted like we didn’t exist.  They didn’t want to be caught staring at us, so they didn’t look at all.

And then, in one store, a girl (who looked about four years old) asked her mom if my friend and I were terrorists.  She wasn’t trying to be mean or anything.  I don’t even think she could have grasped the idea of prejudice.  However, her mother’s response is one I can never forgive or forget.  The mother hushed her child, glared at me, and then took her daughter by the hand and led her out of the store.

All that because I put a scarf on my head.  Just like that, a mother taught her little girl that being Muslim was evil.  It didn’t matter that I was a nice person.  All that mattered was that I looked different.  That little girl may grow up and teach her children the same thing.

This experiment gave me a huge wakeup call.  It lasted for only a few hours, so I can’t even begin to imagine how much prejudice Muslim girls go through every day.  It reminded me of something that many people know but rarely remember: the women in hijabs are people, just like all those women out there who aren’t Muslim.

People of Tumblr, please help me spread this message.  Treat Muslims, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, Taoists, etc., exactly the way you want to be treated, regardless of what they’re wearing or not wearing, no exceptions.  Reblog this.  Tell your friends.  I don’t know that the world will ever totally wipe out prejudice, but we can try, one blog at a time.

coming up next on white people solve racism

muslim women dont need your white saviour attitude, you might now finally realise what it’s like to be excluded from society because of a piece of garment but you’re never going to experience it in the way we do.

she literally worded this so well and so honestly and tried so hard not to be rude, she just tried to understand what you go through. she’s not trying to be a saviour, she’s trying to raise awareness. she never said she’d solve anything or experience it like you do. stop doing exactly what other people do to you and shut down someones ideas just because of their color or religion or anything. this is a valid and completely pure hearted thing.

It’s funny how people act like white people are the biggest douchebags, and then act like total asshats themselves, huh?

She did this to get a GLIMPSE into the shit Muslim women are put through. She never claimed total understanding; in fact she said that she “can’t even begin to imagine how much prejudice Muslim girls go through every day.” She ADMITTED that she doesn’t know everything these women go through, and yet she’s STILL attacked? I cannot fathom why it’s deemed “okay” to be prejudiced against white people, even when we try to understand what it is people of other ethnicities/skin tones/nationalities/religions/etc go through. If you want, we can stop trying to understand and let everyone wallow in their self-pity.

Welcome to tumblr

"Jewish is a race!" "but they don't look Jewish!!"

oh, i’m sorry

i wasn’t aware that

Jews had a specific physical “look”

I mean

it’s not like the idea of Jewish people as a race

and that Jewish people had “Jewish features” was used to justify anti-Jewish sentiment and acts or anything

oh wait except it … totally was

fuck

well damn.

Race is a social construct. Jewry as an ethnic group (or groups) is very real.

March 7th 1965: Bloody Sunday in Selma

On this day in 1965, a civil rights march took place from Selma to Birmingham, Alabama; it became known as ‘Bloody Sunday’. At this stage, the Civil Rights Movement had been in motion for over a decade and already achieved legislative success with the Civil Rights Act. However the focus of the movement now became making the promise of equal franchise guaranteed in the Fifteenth Amendment a reality. While African-Americans exercised the right to vote in the years after the amendment’s passage in 1870, discriminatory measures like literacy tests, poll taxes, and grandfather clauses were soon implemented across the country to deprive them of the vote. Thus in 1965 civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. made voter registration the core of their efforts, centering the campaign on the particularly discriminatory Selma, AL. On March 7th - ‘Bloody Sunday’ - as the six hundred unarmed marchers were crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge, they were descended upon by state troopers who viciously beat the protestors. The violence encountered by these peaceful marchers, which was captured on television and broadcast around the world, led to national outcry and caused President Johnson to publicly call for the passage of his administration’s proposed voting rights bill. After securing the support of federal troops, another march was held on March 21st, and with the protection of soldiers the marchers managed to arrive in Montgomery after three days. The marchers were met in Montgomery - the epicentre of the movement and the site of the 1954 bus boycott - by 50,000 supporters, who were addressed by King. Their efforts were rewarded when, in August of that year, Congress passed the Voting Rights Act that ensured all Americans could vote. This was one of the crowning achievements of the Civil Rights Movement, and the Selma to Montgomery march is commemorated as one of the most important moments of the struggle.

"We are on the move and no wave of racism can stop us. The burning of our churches will not deter us. The bombing of our homes will not dissuade us. We are on the move now…not even the marching of mighty armies can halt us. We are moving to the land of freedom - King’s ‘Address at the Conclusion of the Selma to Montgomery March’ - 25th March, 1965
