Elon Made Me Come Back

Today, the 1st of February, will always be remembered as a tragic day. The day we lost the inspiration and wonderful human being that is Monty Oum.

This is my tribute to Monty, and everything I create for the rest of my life.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Monty in person but he is such a huge inspiration of mine and the reason I am determined to pursue my love of animation. I honestly don’t know where my art would be right now if not for people like Monty.

Today may be the day Monty was taken from us, but it’s also a day we can use to remember all the wondeful and amazing things Monty has given us, and everyday for the rest of our lives we will carry Monty’s message with us.

Never give up, never stop following your dreams.

Thank you Monty, we love you.

Chapter 1: Round One :: Monty Oum’s Signature

God bless you, Monty.

never forget that Monty Oum was a 33 year old high school drop-out who lived a happy fufilling life and accomplished many amazing things including having the first American anime to be dubbed in Japan

never forget that Casey Lee Williams is a 16 year old girl who even though she’s young started singing professionally at 14 and is seen as an inspiration to many vocalists now

never forget that Rooster Teeth is full of people just like you and that you’re not alone and that your experiences don’t make you any less valid than another.  Your age doesn’t limit you.  Your high school education doesn’t define you.  You are loved.

Got some ink last night. It’s not finished because I got light headed from lack of food so the rose had to be rescheduled. But it’s a reminder and memorial rolled into one that reflects on someone I greatly admired. You never know how much you care about someone until they’re gone, regardless of knowing them in real life or not.

A wise man used this phrase a lot and this man also was a huge inspiration for my career path I’m going to school for right now: Monty Oum. His animations were amazing, especially his choreography when it came to fight scenes. He was passionate about his works, staying up for days and casually falling asleep at his desk just to get something done because that’s how much he enjoyed what he was doing. To him, animation wasn’t just a job, it was life and what drove him. He experimented with new things and, when Rooster Teeth got their mocap suit in, wore it for a whole day… plus some from what I’ve heard. 

Even though I never formally met him during his stay with us on Earth, he impacted my life tremendously from his interviews I’ve watched and from his works like Haloid, Red vs Blue, RWBY, and Afro Samurai. This particular design focuses on his biggest work (and one of my favorite web series), RWBY. 

So, as a reminder to myself for my goals in life that I currently have and will have, and as a memorial, I got these three lovely words plus a pretty rose.

So guys, Keep Moving Forward. No matter what. 

Everyone please watch this video of Monty being a DDR god and never forget how happy he made us.

Its really hard to watch people that have cheered you up so many times hurting. It’s really hard not to be able to make them feel better like they do for you.
