Um. So I’m probably one of the few folks who doesn’t think this is adorable. At all.
I think it’s fucking scary how this little boy keep pushing himself on her after she CLEARLY doesn’t want to be bothered with his ass.
And the adult behind the camera doesn’t intervene at all because it’s ‘cute.’
And how analogous it is to when grown ass men don’t take fucking no for an answer, no matter how much we push and shove and say no.
This is not cute. This is an absolute disregard of this little girl’s boundaries.
In the very bottom left gif you can see he’s smiling/laughing. Like this is some kind of game.
I would bet money that the person filming this is laughing and encouraging him.
This is how we teach boys not to respect women’s spaces.
She sure doesn’t look like she’s fucking laughing.
It’s impossible for me to not view it like that too…
Rape culture starts early
We praise baby boys for invading baby girls’ bodies and space. Girls learn from the onset that their body is designed to be invaded, and boys are the invaders. Why should this magically disappear when boys become men and girls become women? It doesn’t. After all those years of practice, it becomes simultaneously more violent and subtler. The violation of women’s bodies becomes so commonplace that hardly anyone bats an eye at it.
This little girl literally throws the boy from her yet he refuses to accept that his advances are unwanted. Boys never learn beyond this, but girls are quickly taught that even overt rejections will be ignored.
I’ve ALWAYS found these kinds of videos creepy. There are SO many adorable videos of children on the internet, why does this one have to be so popular when all it shows is a little girl having her personal space invaded and the signals she’s sending out ignored completely by a boy?? It’s like people are literally watching this and saying “Haha, this is just the first of hundreds of future uncomfortable experiences for this little girl, how cute!"
What really gets me is the force that she’s using. That is not a playful move - she is using enough force to knock him down every time he advances on her. She so very much does not want this little boy touching her that she pushes with with a good deal of strength.
The little boy evidently doesn’t know any better, and that needs to be corrected, but I am absolutely appalled by whoever is filming this, that they don’t put down the camera and step in and stop this.

and i bet she's the one who would get yelled at if they did this in like a preschool classroom. they'd be like "stop pushing him" or "no roughhousing" and put her in timeout for 10 minutes. because he's smiling, so the teachers will think he's just trying to play a game, and all they'll see is her pushing him to the ground.
