i’m mad at my cat because he keeps puking everywhere. at least he had the decency to walk out of my room and puke in the hallway last time.
i’m getting upset at the littlest things today and i just feel like crying. i saw that the cat vomited again and like, started crying bc i didn’t wanna clean it up? i need to go back on my meds. i’ve been forgetting to take them.

Mockingjay Part 2 was amazing
I just got back from seeing it and it fUCKED ME UP. My immediate reactions are:
- Pollux was so precious and Elden’s performance made me love him so much more. I loved his story and the moments they gave him in this movie
- Paylor is a great character and I was thinking “she gives way better speeches, she’s awesome.” Patina Miller killed it.
- I forgot how much I enjoyed Cressida’s character! She’s so clever and brave, and she’s resourceful. If I was part of a rebellion I’d want her on my side for sure.

I’m pretty sure that post is just pointing out the fact that he doesn’t pursue her or push her into saying yes. I can’t think of any instances right now, but I’m sure we’ve seen some “heroes” continue to ask once a woman refuses, so that’s something…
We’ve only seen him interacting with only like 3 women–Vanessa, Gao, and his own mother–all of whom he treats with respect, arguably. He’s seen his mother being abused by his father, so he at least values women enough to back off when they say no.
Nobody’s praising him on high for being such a gentleman or anything. I think the post was just saying that his treatment of women (or at least the women he respects) isn’t one of the things that makes him the “bad guy.” He’s a lot of things, but he would never pressure a woman he liked into anything that would make her feel unsafe. Idk, I just think that’s worth mentioning.

In the Holocaust Museum in DC, they have a room just for the shoes and hair of the victims. It’s really startling to see it so up close since it makes you realize the sheer scale of this. The pile of hair in the museum weighs several tons, and bear in mind that this several ton pile of hair is only but a small fraction of all of the horrible things found in the camps.

The above are photos I took at Auschwitz. The shoes and suitcases were each encased in a hallway - kept behind glass on both sides. And again comprise only a fraction of what the Nazis took.
Now the significance of these collections can not be understated or undermined, the horrors of the Holocaust, the Shoah, are embodied in these piles of stolen clothing and cases.
We look at them and recoil, promising that we’ll never forget and yet the systematic slaughter of human beings continues around the world.
In different places, for different reasons. Who didn’t learn the lesson? Who still needs to be reached? Who needs to be protected?
Do not forget. Remember and react. Radical evil is not a memory of the past, it is a present and continuous force.

There’s a huge collection of shoes at the Yad Vashem museum in Israel too
The display is under the floor so you can walk over it, and it feels like you’re literally walking in their footsteps. I remember taking a good look at all the shoes, wondering about the people they belonged to.
You know how you can tell a lot about a person based on their shoes? Well, on the top of the pile there was a woman’s shoe that was probably once very nice and white, and the tour guide asked us “do you think the woman who wore this one knew where she was being taken?”
It’s so devastating to look at all those shoes right below your own feet, knowing what happened to the people who wore them.
