I decided to write a multi-chapter Zakkura Aladdin AU on a whim after hearing a song and making up an entire storyline on my way home from work even though I know no one will read it.

Because I’m incapable of making things easy, I also decided to make it a/b/o, despite never writing an a/b/o fic or a m/m sex scene before.

Writing f/m smut is a struggle for me and for some reason I get really embarrassed so imagine my surprise when I start writing the smut and find it easier than writing f/m smut scenes.

While I’m happily typing away about knotting and rimming, the f/m fics I haven’t touched (due to not wanting to write the smut) watch on like:

I was just thinking about this scene again and realized something…

In the alt timeline where Zack lives there’s a really good chance he’d get to see Kunsel again. If events played out similar to the OG timeline except Zack (or Zack AND Cloud) help Avalanche that means this scene could possibly happen.

Kunsel had hope that Zack was alive even after he was declared dead. Imagine getting to see them reunited. Maybe he’d help them take down Shinra.

Also. We know Kunsel knew Aerith and checked on her. It’s possible she knows how to get a hold of him. He may even still stop by to see her still.

I need to see it. There’s so many possible scenarios that used to only be possible in fan fiction.

Zack: How do I deal with my enemies?

Cloud: Kill them

Zack : That's a bit extreme, I was hoping for a more passive solution

Kunsel: Kill them only a little?

Cloud: You can’t make everyone like you. You’re not Zack.

Kunsel: Not everyone likes Zack.

Cloud: Who doesn’t?

Kunsel: Well—

Cloud: Names damn it. I want names.

My headcanon:

After Zack left, Kunsel introduced himself to Aerith and would randomly drop in to check on her. He’d stop by whenever the Turks weren’t hovering.

They’d talk, mostly about Zack. He’d offered to help her around the church or to walk her home sometimes. When they declared Zack KIA Kunsel didn’t know how to bring it up. He didn’t want to be the one to tell her. He tried several times but each time he’d start to get the words out she would cut him off as if she knew what he was about to say.

When Aerith’s wagon broke Kunsel offered to fix it repeatedly but she refused. Years passed and she still insisted Zack would be coming back to fix it for her even though deep down she knew he was dead.

It became awkward between them so Kunsel stopped visiting but he still checked in on her from time to time without her knowing.

Kunsel: Hey Zack! Can I get some dating advice?

Zack: Just because I’m with Cloud doesn’t mean I know how I did it.

Cloud: Would you stab your best friend in the leg for 10 million Gil?

Zack: You stab me, and when my leg gets better, we buy a big-ass house.

Kunsel: You can stab me too, then we’ll have 20 million.

Zack: Good thinking!

Cloud: I trust Zack.

Kunsel: You think he knows what he’s doing?

Cloud: I wouldn’t go that far.

Kunsel: Are you the big spoon or the little spoon?

Cloud: I'm a knife.

Zack, from across the room: He’s the little spoon.

(The squad is trying to con some random guy)

Cloud: Um...Zack, why are you pretending I’m this guys family?

Zack: We need money!

Zack: I was thinking more like flat-out stealing from him?

Cloud: What!? No way!

Kunsel knew Cloud was with Zack (I assume) when they left to Nibelheim. He refused to believe Zack had been KIA. What would he have said to Cloud in the remake if he had gotten the chance to talk to him?

Cloud: Please bring home PURIFIED water with no minerals added for taste

Kunsel: We got spring water

Cloud: NO

Zack: with extra minerals

Kunsel: It’s like licking a stalagmite

Cloud: DON’T COME HOME

Zack: Mmmmm cave water

Cloud: WHY!? Why did you give Zack a knife!?

Kunsel: I’m sorry. He said he felt unsafe.
