I’m so excited for my new almanac. I haven’t used it yet but I’ve looked through it and I think it will be great to give me prompts to keep with my practise on a daily level. And my new years resolution/yule resolution is to be more connected to the energies in my life. Basically becoming a human tuning fork. Reblog with your witchy goals for 2018! Happy New Year Witches!

Look at this beautiful gift my younger sister gave me! I love it. It’s a moon night light that turns on and off by touch and can be picked up off of the hand to carry around. I’ve always had more of an affinity with the moon and this is such a beautiful addition to my alter. Any water/moon signs dream 💕♋️🌔

There is nothing worse than cooking something up in the kitchen, infusing it with your intent and then your sauce spits up and burns your hand. Or chopping up some apples for a pie and cutting a finger. Especially during this time of year, Kitchen witches are cooking more than ever. Since my practise is heavily influenced by herbal medicine. I thought I would share some of the things I use to help myself heal, as well as including their magical correspondences. Honey Honey is definitely a favourite. And I use it in everything. I usually use honey to clean my skin, because of it’s antibacterial benefits, but it’s also great for burns and cuts for the same reason. It’s also great for sealing or binding spells. So sometimes I will use it with something else to seal in the health benefits to my injured body. So I clean with the honey and then rinse it away with cool water. Sugar can increase inflammation, so be sure to rinse if off thoroughly. Lavender Lavender has been used for hundreds of years in medicine. It’s great for soothing skin and also works as an antimicrobial. It has been proven to help heal cuts and burns and has many other health benefits. I basically use lavender in everything. It’s my favourite herb for the health benefits and the magical benefits. Magically I often use it to sleep or calm my mind. Which in healing magic is great not only for the body but the mind as well. I literally could write a whole post on lavender. Which I plan to, but on another day. Vitamin E Oil I know what you’re thinking, this doesn’t seem like something with magical properties. But! You were wrong. It doesn’t right off the bat but I have found, like honey is great for binding. So, whatever it is I am treating, I will use it as a carrier oil. And it being great for the skin, you can use it for other purposes besides cuts and burns. Tea Magical or not black and green tea is always within reach for me when it comes to medicine. It is amazing for the skin and the tannin in the tea is great for healing injuries especially burns. They are also great for bruises as well, but that’s unrelated. The bioflavonoids in the tea not only helps reduce inflammation but can help fight infection. The tannin acts as an astringent which aids the tissue in calming and shrinking swollen tissue. Like I said, tea is a go to for me. And magically when you soak the tea beforehand you can use it for divination. Tea is also a great symbol for grounding or earth. So do with that information as you please. I put black and green tea on/in everything. Chamomile and Oatmeal I could literally list so many more things but I wanted to stick with things that were common and easy to find. So the last item on my list is a combo. Chamomile and oatmeal. Got hives? Great, chamomile and oatmeal. Acne? Chamomile and oatmeal (and probably honey). Burns? Chamomile and oatmeal. I’m sure your mother or someone else in your life has suggested and oatmeal soak. And they were absolutely right. Chamomile soothes the skin and the oatmeal (you can find a mix at a drug store or just use the water from your oatmeal cereal (DO NOT USED FLAVOURED)) is fantastic for the skin. It can even help with dry skin or eczema. FANTASTIC for burns and cuts, however be sure that you aren’t using hot water. Shoot for luke warm or cool. Chamomile’s correspondences are commonly used in used in spells for money, peace, love, tranquility and purification. In this case it would be great for a purification and tranquility spell. To help heal the injured skin. Regardless there are so many ways to incorporate a healing practise into your craft. And is one of the most fulfilling forms of magic for me, personally. Perfect for the holiday season as well. Let me know how they work for you or if you have any questions. ❄️🎄Merry Yuletide witches! 🎄❄️
