uncle bucky
tfatws’s political storyline was mad confusing wish they just made sam and bucky go pew pew
Sam using government influence (and thus working with them, reframing them as the good guys) to get an Isaiah statue put up and that being the closure of his arc about instutitional racism and antiblack experimentation/incarceration
instead of having Sam EXPOSE the government on tv and showing a backlash against the government (which he wouldn’t even have to expose Isaiah as alive for, if anyone felt like that would put isaiah at risk)
feels like a weird ode to how the actual irl government feels proud of itself for taking down columbus and confederate statues and instead putting up monuments for like… MLK
like symbolic gestures are still… just gestures and still lack an actual reparations
isaiah has a statue now… sure. can he safely leave his house? did the government say sorry? does the average american know what happened to him and know it was wrong? is he legally alive? what about all of the men who were held hostage and died and were experimented on?
@olliahaaskivi: Everybody’s posting pics gearing up for tomorrow’s @falconandwintersoldier finale and I guess I didn’t want to miss out on the fun. I’m so proud to have been part of the adventure and I’m extra proud to have had the quick reflexes necessary to grab this photo. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it one last time: this job was one of the very best and that has quite a lot to do with the two wonderful men you see here. Superheroes on screen and off.
THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER | 1.05 Truth
I miss when the avengers were a c-list superhero team and spidey and the x-men were the cool ones
boat building sleepover montage my beloved
thinking about Sam's training montage and how he's entirely human, no serum, no enhancement of any sort, just determination and kindness and hardwork and empathy
I love how Isaiah's story so identically matches Steve, experimented on and being successful, breaking rules to save fellow soldiers, used as a tool. The core difference being the color of their skin. Steve was white, and went down as a hero in history. Isaiah was black and the same actions that made Steve loved and honored were criminalized. Isaiah was instead stuck in a cell, tortured, and left for dead basically, presumed dead. This is very real, think about white people being called survivors when scavenging after a natural disaster and black people being called looters in the same situation. This isn't just a plot point. It would be amazing if people can come away from this show with a bit more understanding.

Captain America: Sam Wilson #7 The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ep. 5
bucky refusing to help sam up after the fight with walker and just throwing the shield down at him is an EXACT summary of how much of a dick he’s been to sam this WHOLE series like what an asshole
#lets hear it for captain america 🥺
Also the scene with Sam trying to wipe the blood off of the shield... The anguish, the held back tears... Mr Anthony Mackie, you delivered that perfectly, I can't even...
how that conversation really went
bucky: oh man 😔 i guess i have no choice but to stay at a hotel tonight 😢🙄 sure would be a shame if a hot guy offered for me to stay on his couch 😳👀
sam: ...
bucky: sure would be a shame 😔👀
sam: oh for god's sake-
