The Bitter End by Placebo
From Filistata by Stolen Babies
This song is so fun and yet its lyrics retain a sort of panic...love the combination. Also, I like that the title (filistata) refers to a specific genus of spiders.
Dreams originally by Fleetwood Mac, covered by Bastille & Gabrielle Aplin (via pigmenting)
Norra el Norra (Entering the Ark) by Orphaned Land
This is one of my favorite songs of all time and my favorite piece for Orphaned Land. It recalls to my mind, somehow, Greek mythology even though I know very well that's not what the song is about.
Filistata by Stolen Babies
This song is just simply awesome. The word Awesome even suits it. I consider it a sort of dark-version theme song for Pinky and the Brain. This song is also fun. Actually all of the songs on There Be Squabbles Ahead are fun. Sucks that their new album Naught is...well, bland and stereotypical and not...fun.
Prudence Kept Her Purity by Enslavement of Beauty
This takes me so far back, to the days of black clothing and metal studs. Enslavement of Beauty in particular reminds me of a boy when he was sweet, before he never became a man. It recalls to me a time when a sweet boy rode a bus with a petulant teenage girl and would make CDs for her and talk to her of music every day till he reached his stop. A sweet boy with eyes the dark green of bell pepper, glossy and filled with youthful passion. Before he became who he became and I became who I became and the world changed and music vanished from the scene.
