This whole ‘we got married and NOW were deciding on kids’ is getting old on TV, like have the damn discussion first
Discussions about a couple's future plans for family and children should happen before they even CONSIDER marriage tbfh. If the writers want to introduce *couple drama* they should do that with established couples that are considering marriage but BEFORE they actually get married.
#this plotline always stresses me tf out#y'all didn't have these super important discussions before y'all LEGALLY tied your lives together??#like seriously???#i get that it's for fictional conflict#and usually the characters magically work things out#but that's not real life#people in real life get married to people that don't have the same life goals or plans#and then they either feel guilted into altering their lives to make their partner happy#(all while making themselves miserable until eventually everyone around them feels that including the partner they were trying to please)#or they realize this union was a mistake#and the breakup is 1000 times messier because the courts are involved#and i know divorce isn't a bad thing and it absolutely should not be shamed#but maybe people should also put more thought into getting married in the first place?#it's okay to be in a relationship with someone you love#but breakup because you discover your plans for the future are incompatible#idk spontaneity in love should be about gestures not milestones#planning for a future with someone requires talking about things BEFORE the problems arise#this got away from me#but yeah i feel very strongly about this for personal reasons 😅
