Saw @dramas-and-stuff mentioned how Xiao Lan Hua didn't accidentally fell into the tower, she was pulled in by these colourful orbs. IN THIS ESSAY I WILL- anyways, I believe the orbs are DFCQ's removed emotion crying for help because they knew she was the Goddess of Xishan with healing powers.

In the show they mentioned that DFCQ's seven emotions (七情) are removed (This is a concepte rooted in Buddhism - Seven Emotions and Six Desires) and hence the seven orbs which corresponds to the seven emotions that are floating around no longer in him. With the help of Xiao Lan Hua's power, it re-enters him(3rd gif) which will slowly revives his love tree .

Later in EP14, Jie Li gives Xiao Lan Hua medicine that will trigger emotions has seven pills altogether. The pill colours corresponds (vaguely) to the seven colourful orbs.
