HOUSE LANNISTER • Casterly Rock • Hear Me Roar Crimson, a gold lion
House Lannister is an old, powerful, and wealthy house that rules the Westerlands from Casterly Rock. They are descended from the Andals, and were allowed to keep their lands after the Targaryen invasion. House Lannister is the richest family in Westeros. Lord Tywin was King Aerys II’s Hand while his son Jaime served in the Kingsguard. After Jaime killed Aerys and Tywin orchestrated the Sack of King’s Landing, Cersei Lannister married King Robert Baratheon. Tywin’s youngest child, Tyrion, is a disgrace to his father but holds various positions within the kingdom.
HOUSE CLEGANE Yellow, three black dogs
House Clegane was raised to knighthood when Lord Tytos Lannister’s kennelmaster saved him from a lion, losing three of his dogs and his leg. He was given land southeast of Casterly Rock. His grandchildren, Gregor and Sandor, are in the service of House Lannister.

House Payne is one of the principal bannermen of House Lannister. Ser Ilyn Payne is the King’s Justice, and Podrick becomes Tyrion Lannister’s squire before eventually squiring for Brienne of Tarth.
HOUSE CRAKEHALL • Crakehall • None So Fierce Brown, a black-and-white brindled boar
House Crakehall is a robust house located in the southern Westerlands, near the Sunset Sea. The Crakehalls are a fierce family with many knights serving House Lannister.
HOUSE LEFFORD • Golden Tooth Sky blue, a gold pile with a gold sun sinister
House Lefford rules from the Golden Tooth, the main eastern entryway to the Westerlands.
HOUSE SPICER • Castamere Paly green and silver, three black pepperpots on a saffron bend
House Spicer is a noble house in the Westerlands. Lady Sybell Spicer is the mother of Jeyne Westerling.
HOUSE WESTERLING • The Crag • Honor, Not Honors Sand, six white shells
House Westerling is an old family that descends from the First Men. They were once powerful due to their gold mines, but have recently fallen on hard times and dwindling power.
HOUSE MARBRAND • Ashemark • Burning Bright Smoke grey, an orange burning tree
House Marbrand is a notable house of the Westerlands, ruling from the source of the Tumblestone River. Ser Addam Marbrand showed great valor at the Battle of the Blackwater, and afterwards is made commander of the City Watch.
HOUSE GREENFIELD • Greenfield Green, a white double tressure
House Greenfield is a house of landed knights in the Westerlands. Ser Garth Greenfield was taken captive in the Battle of the Whispering Wood, and Ser Preston Greenfield was a member of King Robert’s Kingsguard, until he was killed by a mob while protecting the High Septon.
HOUSE REYNE • Castamere Silver, a red lion regardant with a forked tail, gold claws, and gold tongue
House Reyne was once the richest and most powerful house in the Westerlands after their liege-lords, House Lannister. Lord Reyne rebelled against the weak Tytos Lannister, but was defeated by Tywin, who destroyed all traces of House Reyne and their co-conspirators House Tarbeck.
HOUSE BANEFORT • Banefort Grey, a black hooded man within a fiery tressure
House Banefort is a noble house sworn to House Lannister. Lord Quenten Banefort was captured at the Battle of the Whispering Wood.
HOUSE PLUMM • Come Try Me Gold, three purple rondels
Though House Plumm are loyal bannermen to House Lannister, their most notorious member is Brown Ben Plumm, a distant relative and commander of the mercenary Second Sons.
HOUSE SWYFT • Cornfield • Awake! Awake! Yellow, a blue bantam rooster
House Swyft is a knightly house sworn to the Lannisters. Ser Harys Swyft is named Hand of the King because he does not argue with her, though he was later demoted to Master of Coin. His daughter, Dorna, is married to Kevan Lannister.
HOUSE FOOTE White, a copper dagger across a black chevron
House Foote is a noble house from the Westerlands. Lord Philip Foote defeated Lord Bryce Caron at the Battle of the Blackwater, and was granted his lands and title of Lord of Nightsong.
