You can always speculate as to the nature of the relationship that’ll be portrayed in the film but let’s not pretend there isn’t a huge problem with age discrimination against actresses. Do you really think Bollywood is going to make another rom-com with Shahrukh and Madhuri any time soon? I bet you they won’t and that’s the sad reality, so if you think silencing criticism aimed at Shahrukh and the whole of the industry is unwarranted boy do I have some news for you
Yeahhhh can someone find that golden post where they showed the ages of all the actresses SRK has ever worked with at the time he was 25? Cause some of those girls were literally 4 and 6, and Alia is literally 22 right now and SRK is 49. That’s the age difference between a father and daughter–and bc its Bollywood, I’m sure they’ll include sexual tension of some sort of not an outright love-interest pairing between them like come on
Ok, ok...I’ve got your point people! And yes! I am aware of the huge discrimination problem in Bollywood and I am aware, that it’s not news for such to happen in BW all the time. But Let’s just maybe hope, that the story is demanding that age gab and it’s not about old same discrimination? Can we hope? Maybe it’s a story about Lolita haha.... Reality sucks, I know, but let’s do not jump on conclusions till the film is out. When it’s out and if there will be all the awkward ‘romance’ that we all dislike, then ok, you can throw stones at the film makers or actors, if you’d like to blame actors, as you wish. PS: I tend to hope that SRK has some brains, to not agree on that kind of madness, so let’s see...plus we have Gauri Shinde for a director...idk
