I laugh so hard, imagine associating Sansa or Alicent to feminine rage. “How dare a girl defy the man” and it’s a just a misogynistic Catholic who want to punish a woman for having sex outside marriage, literally said “we do not rule, but we may guide the men that do: gently, away from violence and sure destruction, and instead toward peace”, nurses her sick husband, cries when he died, and stole a woman’s throne to give it to a male rapist.
It’s just insane how Alicent’s deranged fans want her to be simultaneously dutiful and defiant, simultaneously tradionalist and feminist. Thats not how this works.
What they think is "feminine rage" is actually just a socially-licensed outburst with the purpose of reinforcing patriarchal order through a woman letting out her frustrations on those who she envies and/or sees as making her look weak, inferior, etc since they do not "follow the rules" which make her retain whatever position she has and enjoys.
Feminine rage is not something that reinforces patriarchal self-control or motherliness. It is, above all, a thing where a woman forgoes the colonialist conception of "self-control" and "calm order" and lets herself attack the abuser, the one that intends to use her body and mind against her, against a particular system, etc. It's basically a shove against a hegemony, something that is meant to disorder and destruction to make a potential condition where there can be a struggle to remake boundaries better suited for the abused.
At least that's the literary definition I've deduced. Female rage, or the anger and rage of women, itself is not an invention either way; it is as real as male rage and it is only "unique" in the context of patriarchal abuse either negatively ("crazy bitch") or as I wrote above about feminine rage.
Associating “feminine rage” with Alicent is frankly delusional, but I have to say that even though Sansa is a passive, status quo toting character, she does have a lot of Medusa symbolism and Medusa is symbolic of feminine rage. It’s why it’s a symbol of feminism. And while I highly, highly doubt that Sansa is going to go against the status quo or patriarchy, I do think her symbolism is about her realizing Littlefinger is truly a monster and deciding to take action against him. Possibly when Sweetrobin dies, she’ll wake up and start accepting some truths. Like I said I really doubt this means Sansa is going to all of a sudden be rageful and continuously proactive in the future, but I do think she will have a wake up call about Littlefinger eventually, and I think she’ll be proactive about this. Sansa is mainly a passive character, but she did proactively go to Cersei and snitch on her own father, so I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that she could be proactive occasionally in the future as well. And like I said, I think any “feminine rage” she could feel will be only directed at Littlefinger once she gets her head out of her ass, and not rage against the system that oppresses her since she’s pretty content in that system, despite how much it’s hurt her, but honestly she’s not smart enough to realize that.
