That's a very good question. Broadly speaking, there shall be camps, including one that refuses to accept this was always the deal like people now do for Jaehaera's death (esp as those hotd fans, some who are asoiaf fans, are used to a show validating their basest desires, not to be dramatic).

I suppose a primary one would be that Dany will lose her dragons just like how she does in the show, and I mean the most important beats. Some would probs say she gets assassinated if not by Jon, by some other person, or that she dies going head to toe in some way against Euron.

What did I say? I wrote a post "back then" about the entitlement over canon some fans developed and HotD fostered for the Jaehaera conspiracy HERE. And here is a quote from the main series showing us that GRRM has had Daenaera--not Jaehaera--as Aegon's queen since the late 90s, 80s at least!

And you can look to how I compare Rhaenyra v Jaehaerys I HERE. If we speak about the executions, again, it may not have been exactly smart, but neither was it exactly so unique of Rhaenyra for her to be singled out as a "terrible" ruler. It was a bad situation that had little other recourse other than taxes that nonetheless was used against Rhaenyra in-world by the Shepherd and the greens. Helaena was a device against her AS WELL AS just a gentler person than MOST of anyone, green or black, around her--which includes Alicent.

People just either have never read the books and want to still use what they don't know/contextlessness against those they are arguing against OR they know and again, removing context for their arguments. Or they forgot and are rushing to argue.

Yeah...I just got done talking abt something similar with the Rhaenyra-Alicent meeting of 2x07 HERE. People want to rewrite history.

It must be exhausting for them, to be so contradictory all the time, even with themselves. The most rancid people I have "seen" yet. Them and any Dany anti, I just don't really understand hating someone who frees slaves totally out of the goodness of their own hearts. As if that motivation were an impossible one? This premise alone--a dragonriding teen girl with not one but THREE dragons, speaks multiple languages, holds off on reclaiming her ancestral throne to obliterate a slave system through warfare and other means...how is this not fascinating and exciting and inherently good?! All this is gold characterization, people dream of this shit!!!

Weird how Rhaenyra gets seemingly most of anon's ire than say all these people who actually usurped her, raped various women/girls (Aegon, various girls/women inclu that 12 year old; Aemond with Alys, killing all the Strong males, and burning down the riverlands; Daeron--Bitterbridge), and killed a few of her relatives/supporters.

You'd think raping mass murderers would take precedence over a supposed "psycho" pick me? Or to the women who tried to force her 8 year old granddaughter to kill another child so she could spite the already-dead woman she herself abused for years and the usurped (talking abt Alicent with Jaehaera).

Honestly, anon, you sound like what I imagine many of those content creators just think of book purists, except you read the propagandized misogyny-screen of F&B and decided to continue it. Sorry you don't like imperfect female MCs, anon, can't relate. ✌🏿

There's a difference saying

I'm all for calling show!Alicent stupid--bc she was made that way by sexist writers. However, the terms here are meant to erase the personhood of the women to their sexual activities and whether they are having sex with the "right" men. therefore, these terms can be applied willy-nilly to convey that we should have no respect for said woman as a human being.

There's really no such thing as a "slut" or "whore" similar to "bastard", other than the sometimes affectionate female and queer designations of a person who loves sex and engaging in it as they also fart in the face of its original objectification. Sometimes yes those people will say it negatively, but not really like cis straight and internalized sexist women will. Bc under the woman/queer context, these terms are celebrating the "slut" being the subject rather than the object/making the choice to have sex w/o thinking of how this would please randos/men.

Alicent felt she had no other way to gain that information, as stupid as the showrunners made her feel that way and denied her actually using her queenship to subdue Larys. You'd also be calling all those women who were SAed at work "whores" for not saying "no" or continuing to sleep with bosses when they were under pressure to.

🙃Guilty? I talk a lot about Rhaenyra and F&B character than I do ASoIaF main series characters.

I suppose it's partly due to HotD reviving reviews of F&B, but this fandom also already has been making dead women and non-reactive or narratively passive women the unsung heroes of this story. To some extent, you can include Lyanna, but Lyanna has a lot more symbolism backing up her relationship to Rhaegar and actions pre-Rebellion. The other part is that people feel either more "decided" abt what ASoIaF is about bc of GoT OR they are still too angry to really get into ASoIaF and either fight for/against Daenerys bc it inevitably gets to that (as it should). Or some people have yet to really reread/read for the first time the main ASoIaF books to not feel equipped to talk about them.

Or they are dumb.

I never researched this myself, but from what I've seen it's very plausible that they are the ones would say that and then the next day the other.

It was inevitably going to go there, bc if you critique how individuals disobey for the sake of their disobedience and not care why or under what context, it's obviously going to be pro-status quo bc of a sense or reality of privilege to maintain from that. Or they're stupid. Could be both.
