Anon, I seriously debated just blocking you for this. Final warning.
There's a difference saying
"under the patriarchal formula for slutshaming, which doesn't care about the circumstances of there being consent or the nuances of survival/self sustenance, this sexist woman would also be considered the very 'whore' she called and treated another woman and we should not adopt that line of thinking ourselves but we will point this out in several jokes"
"she's just a stupid whore and a hypocrite, bc she was a hypocrite".
I'm all for calling show!Alicent stupid--bc she was made that way by sexist writers. However, the terms here are meant to erase the personhood of the women to their sexual activities and whether they are having sex with the "right" men. therefore, these terms can be applied willy-nilly to convey that we should have no respect for said woman as a human being.
There's really no such thing as a "slut" or "whore" similar to "bastard", other than the sometimes affectionate female and queer designations of a person who loves sex and engaging in it as they also fart in the face of its original objectification. Sometimes yes those people will say it negatively, but not really like cis straight and internalized sexist women will. Bc under the woman/queer context, these terms are celebrating the "slut" being the subject rather than the object/making the choice to have sex w/o thinking of how this would please randos/men.
Alicent felt she had no other way to gain that information, as stupid as the showrunners made her feel that way and denied her actually using her queenship to subdue Larys. You'd also be calling all those women who were SAed at work "whores" for not saying "no" or continuing to sleep with bosses when they were under pressure to.
Again, last chance. You can unfollow me or block me if you so choose.
