It’s wild that the three post-presidency achievements for Obama are kingmaking a brain-addled and genocidal Biden presidency, breaking an NBA strike, and castigating Black men (one of the most reliable Democrat voting demographic) about voting and misogyny.
I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know about the last part.
It feels like so many liberals are saying “you know what, before, I just didn’t care about the extermination of Palestinians. But now that Dems didn’t win the election, I’m actively pro-extermination of Palestinians.” These are terrifying times.
It's weird to contemplate how people will ignore basic things about why one wouldn't want to vote for or endorse a person who perpetuates violence against their community or ethnic group (even with the small number of Palestinian Americans who did vote for Harris). Like I said before, it didn't feel real enough or close to them, so they wanted to brush it under the rug like "all the other atrocities" they're used to seeing those close to them and others in America doing. They don't wish it to impact their own lives or contemplate how it could.

I can’t believe that on my tl I’ve got Palestinians who have nothing but worm infested flour to eat, and simultaneously screenshots of Americans wishing for them to be wiped out because the psychopath candidate (and party) responsible for their genocide lost the elections.
Which is why i just don't care about the "we're not allowed to be angry" thing when some people are counterargue or criticized for doing this or even just saying it without having actually done it. Palestinians share the internet, you're basically punishing them similar to how white people & PoCs have done to Black people online multiple times. I mean for the sake of morality, when it comes to fairness, there's a discussion to be had but the anger and rawness has to dissapear first. (funny how already there has been a few people tryign to explain or shift gears, though)
Liberals do not represent the working class and they never will. Just look at how their stupid followers are attacking everyone but the billionaires, lobbyists, and politicians that shaped the least policy driven campaign in decades and one that focused on identity politics only.

A majority of white women, the largest single group of voters, voted for Trump once again, but liberals will keep blaming Black and Latino men, Palestinians, Muslims, Arabs and other long-time victims of the Democratic Party, claiming they don’t care about women’s rights. Also, how are liberals gonna complain about Muslims voting 3rd party for JILL STEIN and then come back around to claim they didn’t vote for Kamala Harris because she’s a woman???
I believe that it has a xenophobic root to it, bc this is also giving credit of a singular action to a specific group when said group could--like any others--respond to the same problem or issue differently. It's a quick dismissal beside the rage at not obtaining the same hinors as other identities are graced with. Kamala, though, incarcerated several people, so that's funny. idk
So… Americans’ plan of solidarity with Palestine was boycotting a few deeply nonessential businesses. In return you expected arab americans to stand in solidarity with you by voting for the administration that is funding their genocide and has made no clear promises to stop ? They stop going to McDonald’s and they think the fair trade off, the least Palestinians can do, is vote for the people who are sending literally billions of dollars to the colonial project hell bent on wiping them from the planet and history ? Are liberals fucking unwell ?

Honestly it’s not even about the election result. They’ve been gagging for a reason to shit all over pro-Palestinians because they don’t have a problem with what Israel does, the mistake is assuming these guys are progressive by default.
I certainly think that because thye don't feel all that close to it, it's just not "real" enough to them and to what they think they must do fot themselves.
The USA is a settler colonial state born out of multiple genocides, slavery, white supremacy and it’s continued to reinforce that every year of its existence. This election revealed nothing about America that hasn’t already been known for the past 500+ years.

Facts (I was born and raised and live up North, i still agree).
The only people able to get online and say things like “I’m not doing a thing for Palestine” or “the Palestine movement is dead” or “I’m out I’m only taking care of me now” were never in the movement to begin with. Anytime a liberal says anything like that I know they are a joke. Sorry but they’re not moving me with their hollow threats. They were never here. It is genuinely impossible for someone to be committed to a cause because they see it as part of larger liberation and then back out because they perceive people to have betrayed their solidarity (by not voting for a genocidaire who murdered their friends and families…..).
Also certainly interesting for any American to see it as a betrayal of solidarity to not vote for Harris, but Palestinians can’t see it as a betrayal of solidarity for people to vote for the administration actively committing genocide against them.
I already wrote a whole post about Black people doing this HERE, and Black people bc though I am not a descendant of enslaved people, I have still been here since all my life. PoC Trump voters? That's a different ball game that PoC non trump voters need to address face to face. It's the same for those who aren't Black and didn't vote for trump but also are saying those things abt Palestine.

Kamala Harris was literally campaigning with Liz Cheney and George Bush Republicans while promising a lethal military and an era of never ending war, meanwhile the corporate media is like, “the Democratic Party lost because they went too far left.”

I'm Black but not the descendant of chattel enslaved people, but bc I am Black/a colonial-affected and have already said what i said about the PoCs who voted fro Trump. I've come to realize that on the Black side, the jokes I've seen everywhere online about Palestine becoming a parking lot or glass or the clear-non-joke form this one Black woman about Palestine is now "done" bc 3rd party voters ruined it for themselves have the main goal of staying ahead in the capitalist race towards building equity and capital for themselves.
Here's the thing. Yes, producing money and capital for the Black community as well as supporting other Black businesses amongst themselves is very important since historically others never do. this is facts. Problem is that people are claiming that Palestinians deserve to be steamrolled and lose their homeland...when:
One creator said that they are leveraging their privilege to escape present genocide and complete erasure (bc Black Americans may have been literally bombed as well as killed and raped, too...but also Palestine is getting WIPED OUT without their original home...you'd think you'd find some similarity, commonality, solidarity if it's about land loss, but no). this doesn't mean that people shouldn't be looking side-eyed at every PoC Trump voter, nah, hold them to the fire (I expected nothing less from both white men and women). Which means start conversations, argue, berate, tell them about the consequences of their votes and the histories that mirror out own time. but I earnestly believe that just because Black people didn't vote for Trump, some right now expressing anger (rightly) are really helping white supremacy when they call for deportations and "jokingly" put up numbers for ICE. Biden may have fucked up for Kamala by being so late, but Kamala messed up by including Republicans...which ironically mirrors PoCs voting for Trump, right? some black people and many of Trump's PoC voters actually have something in common there.
It's so fucking crazy, bc rising xenophobia and racism basically speedrunned Germany and Italy towards fascism.
I remember thinking, like a lot of people before the elections, that the hate in the Black diaspora was twisted on both sides bec the whole point is that it's divisive.
