Did we talk about what happened to the picture from 1941? Because it's a Polaroid from hell I'm pretty sure it still exists at good quality.
I absolutely can imagine Aziraphale has always been carrying it around and taking it to heaven. There he put it in the drawer of his desk in a sterile and empty corner of heaven. And always, when the Metatron gives him boring and annoying work to do to keep him busy and from thinking how to prevent the next Armaggedon he takes it out of the drawer and smiles, because he knows for what he's doing this for.
But I remember the last one holding the picture has been Crowley, wondering how Aziraphale tricked poor Furfur with exchanging the picture. If you asked me a few weeks ago I would have seen Crowley after the split putting the picture on a Dartboard in his empty flat and throwing arrows at it or tearing it apart in the middle. Because I'm absolutely convinced now, that there's less anger after the split and now they both are finally aware being in love with each other at the same time, I feel for something else. Okay, he could miracle the damage away, but it wouldn't be the same (as Aziraphale's coat with the paintball stain).
So I think about Crowley sitting on his sofa in his empty and sterile flat, looking at the picture an remembering what happened back in 1941 on their date night after the magic show: when Aziraphale told him to trust him, and he did.
And that's what he has to do now, trust Aziraphale.
I love the idea of Crowley still having it, but my money's on the angel.
There was a tweet where a fan asked Michael Sheen what Aziraphale kept in his pockets, and he replied that it was between him and his angel.
Now, far be it for me to cast aspersions, but we all know Michael isn't usually so reticent when it comes to his thoughts about Aziraphale. I am 99% convinced that this polaroid, this first proof that there was an 'us', has been kept meticulously on Aziraphale's person ever since.
And if we see this in Season Three it would mean more to me, I think, than any kiss could. Because it's "this means something special to me", it's "this evidence could damn me but I cannot bear to part with it", it's in every conceivable way, "I love you."
