Thank you for this insight into Oliver’s immediate frame of mind and delicately balancing the depth of his emotion against the jarring reality of the situation.       It is a testament to your writing that I was more emotional reading this than I was watching the actual episode.  Oliver realizing that the world won’t end if he allows himself to fall apart and that he will be stronger by having (and accepting) the support of others is exactly what I hope the show gives us next in his hero journey.  Your muse has made a triumphant return and as a devoted reader of your fics, it feels good to read them again. :)

First off, I apologize for being so late in replying to you!  Secondly, THANK YOU!  I am so glad you enjoyed this piece.  It was definitely emotional to write it.  Getting into Oliver’s state of mind, especially after something so horrible happens to him is always hard yet cathartic to do.  I am so glad we are seeing such emotional growth from Oliver.  And I look forward to more next season!

After a very long day of waiting, waiting & more waiting I have to thank @dettiot, @dust2dust34, @ohmypreciousgirl, @hopedreamlovepray and @anthfan. Your words have kept me sane, made me forget where I was and get lost in Olicity at its finest. The Calculation update was amazing, Blood Hands…Bre I swear I was holding my breath with every word. Thank goodness I was in a hospital. I stumbled upon What Could Have Been, and wow…I loved it even through the tears in chapter 1 and LOL over Blondie’s…I love a good Blondie too. Hope & Anthfan….I always go back to my faves…especially when I need to feel like being hugged that’s is what your words do…because you both are so freaking talented. Shout out to anyone in the medical profession, especially Orthopedic surgeons. Looking forward to the husbands new Knee….after lots of wine to get through the Physical Therapy. #Fanfic keeps me sane #Olicity always rules.

He came back to Starling City with a worn brown notebook.  A notebook full of names.  Names of the people who were corrupting the city he loved.  Names of people that his father gave him to right his wrongs.

And for a year he worked from that notebook; going after the people who had tried to destroy his city and who ultimately destroyed his father.  

Now, Oliver Queen has a new notebook.  And in it aren’t names, but dates.  Dates of the days and the moments that he’s collected since he returned.  

He has a fall day in October written in red ink (underlined and bolded) when he met his future wife.  

Another date for the night he gained a brother.  He has the date his mother shot him; the same night Felicity learned his secret.  

The night when he lost his best friend.  A day he returned home once more, and the day he realized he’d fallen in love.

He has all the dates - each one marking a gain or a loss. He writes them all down in his new notebooks - not because he thinks he’ll forget, but because for five years, he forgot how to live.

And then he got a second chance.  So he fills his new notebook with dates and times and memories.

And when he flips through them he finds that there is one name that is on every other page.  A name that brought light and happiness back into his life.

Felicity.

What a wonderful story! I love how Oliver calmed down Felicity and convinced her that she was not to blame. Then he stood beside her, supporting her with soothing touches and encouragement when the group was trying to figure out how to help Ray. And the ending was an absolutely perfect scene to reflect the picture we all know and love! You are an amazing storyteller! I am so glad we share the love of these two characters! If you ever tag people, please add me.  I don’t ever want to miss something of yours!

One thing that is truly so awesome about writing Oliver and Felicity this season is that those open touches are there.  That support is something we see in the show and it’s wonderful to be able to write that as it’s reflected in their relationship on the show. (Not that it not being on the show stopped me before...lol.)

Can I just say you have a wonderful way of capturing that giddy magic that happens when they are onscreen and translating it into your writing style and I just love it! My favorite parts are when you can illustrate Oliver’s emotions so perfectly that it makes the reader feel they are feeling it too! You are gifted! Thank you for sharing this and I can’t wait for the next chapter!

So I just want to tackle hug you right now!  I am truly blushing.

Thank you so much, hon!   I am so happy that I can capture that magic that happens on screen between them in my writing!  These two have some amazing chemistry and it’s always been a joy to write them so I’m beyond honored that it translates in my writing as well!

I have never felt as close to two characters i have written as I do with Oliver and Felicity.  Writing their emotions is something that sometimes takes a lot out of me, but it’s important to me to get it right.  I want whoever reads my stories to be able to feel and relate to what each character is feeling so THANK YOU.  

I will be coming back to this post when I need a pick-me-up or a reminder when I am feeling down about my writing.
