We’re really exploring the idea of family. What does it mean - not just the Team Arrow family, but the Queen family, Diggle’s family, Felicity’s family. We’ll be expanding the characters to see what these people are like when they’re home and seeing what their lives are like outside of the Arrow cave. And also what does it mean to be part of a family, and the differences between found family and biological family, and what does that mean to each of our characters.

IS THIS ALL I EVER WANTED OR IS THIS ALL I EVER WANTED?!!!! This is one of the things I missed the most in s3, that it was pretty much only the Arrow cave life we saw. It actually made sense there, but I still missed those scenes from the first two seasons where it was just about their lifes and not the “Arrow-life”. Seriously though, all these thins we heard from s4 so far just seem too good to be true… Like is this all even possible?

As we have always said, their relationship is going to take ups and downs, twists and turns. Oliver and Felicity have a very emotional scene together in episode 302. This is not the last time we hear the words, “I love you,” in connection with Oliver and Felicity. I never want to turn to the back of the book and read to everyone the last page because I think part of the fun or the agony of watching these two people is the fact that they are together, then they’re apart. So we will see what the future holds for them… It’s something we will be dealing with over the course of the season. That hospital scene didn’t just take Oliver and Felicity and put them back in a box. The repercussions of that scene that is going to follow them over the course of the story. That’s not over. We did not just “pause” or “reset” on their relationship. This is just a development in an ongoing relationship for them.

Yes!!!!!!  YES!

This show LOVES bookends. It loves arcs. It loves for the first episode to be a microcosm of the season. 

So fret not. This is endgame. 

This is Oliver’s ‘hump year’ if you will in figuring out how to be the fully realized hero that is Green Arrow. The hero that has a fully functioning dual identity I might add. 

Who is the one person who has helped mold and shape him more than any other? It’s Felicity. She’s going to be with him until the end of the ride. He loves her. She loves him. That’s not going anywhere. The feelings are still there. 

He will get to spend a season watching Digg think he didn’t want/couldn’t do both and then have exactly that. He will get to spend a season watching Felicity try and move on and fail because she still loves him. He will get to spend a season not looking at another woman because he’s in love even if he doesn’t want to be (you don’t get a say in that stuff). 

And eventually in the end he will get his head out of his ass and realize that not only can he be both Oliver Queen and the Arrow, but that he HAS to be Oliver Queen and the Arrow. 

One can’t exist without the other.
