I know we don’t necessarily see him be obvious about it the way we’d like, but the sheer level of desperation and terror on his face any time Felicity is remotely threatened or hurt, leads me to think he legitimately lives in permanent fear of something happening to her. Like, this man has so many demons and so many nightmares; he has literally been through hell and yet, Felicity getting hurt is still one of the (if not the actual) worst things that he can think of.
