Do you know why I love your writing? It’s the way you write Felicity in situations that shows the good she sees in everyone and each hurdle that come their way. I mean all the pep talks she’s given Oliver about himself proves how much she knows him.

The bit about Oliver worrying about the skeletons in his closet (which we know is plenty) and her basically saying it doesn’t matter because she knows the man he is now— brilliant. Because it’s totally true. Felicity did not know Ollie, she knows Oliver. And Oliver is significantly different than Ollie.

I love the simplicity of it all. That all Oliver needs is Felicity to make his day better. So beautiful done as always!

Oh, hon, thank you so much!!! I love Felicity and the way she excels at giving those pep talks to the people she cares about - especially Oliver.  She has always believed in him and what he can do and now that she’s getting to watch everyone else see that as well.  It’s a truly beautiful thing.

We know the skeletons in his closet are going to come out, but Felicity has never judged him for his past, but instead pushed him to show the better man that he is now.  And that’s all that’s matter to her - the present.  Not his past, but now, and that’s something that I’ve always loved about Felicity. 

You’re right.  Oliver is significantly different from Ollie, and now the city gets to see that as well.

I think Oliver will always be tring to make his parents proud.  He had such a hard and complicated relationship with them while they were alive.  He didn’t understand everything they were doing and, while they didn’t always make the best choices, he came to realize that they both wanted the best for him - they wanted him to have his best chance.  And he never really got the chance to show them everything he wanted to do - to make them proud.  

I go back to that last talk with his mother and how she told him she was proud of him and you could see the way it affected him.  He’s always wanted to make those he loves proud, and, for so long, all her felt like was a failure,  so to hear that his mother would be proud of him is important.  And Felicity knows that.

Can I just say you have a wonderful way of capturing that giddy magic that happens when they are onscreen and translating it into your writing style and I just love it! My favorite parts are when you can illustrate Oliver’s emotions so perfectly that it makes the reader feel they are feeling it too! You are gifted! Thank you for sharing this and I can’t wait for the next chapter!

Thank you so much, hon!   I am so happy that I can capture that magic that happens on screen between them in my writing!  These two have some amazing chemistry and it’s always been a joy to write them so I’m beyond honored that it translates in my writing as well!

I have never felt as close to two characters i have written as I do with Oliver and Felicity.  Writing their emotions is something that sometimes takes a lot out of me, but it’s important to me to get it right.  I want whoever reads my stories to be able to feel and relate to what each character is feeling so THANK YOU.

Hi, my dear! I am glad you saw this on the second posting as well!  I always love to hear your thoughts.

I love knowing what stood out to you and caught your attention.  One of my favorite things about Oliver and Felicity is how open they are with each other.  They will share their fears and concerns, and that makes them stronger.  

Oliver losing his parents is something that still weighs heavily on him.  All he feels he did when they were alive was disappoint them, and despite the bad choices they might have made, he knows they loved him and Thea.  i go back to that last conversation he had with Moira and how she told him that she knew he was the vigilante and that she was proud of him.  You could see the emotion on his face and how much that meant to him.  

He couldn’t keep the family company, but he can do this - he can honor his mother’s memory.  And he wants to do that - with Felicity by his side.  So i thought it was fitting for her to relay that message to him.  To let him know that his mother would be proud - both of his parents would be.

Yup, this/moments like this totally happen at the loft. Because even though they are no longer in suburbia, they have found blissful domesticity together. As long as they are together, they are home.
