‘I heard your voice in my head. You were reminding me of all the good things that I have in my life. I heard Thea, I heard John, I heard Laurel… Just telling me to keep fighting. To never give up. Just telling me to have hope.’
I was in the darkness… with your kindness… your trust… you brought me into the light. You let me know I deserved it. You were that light and I don’t know if I still deserve that trust, if I deserve you. I probably don’t but whatever has happened, whatever will happen, the way you make me feel is the best part of my life. You can ask me to say that I don’t love you but I will never lie to you again. You are my always and I just want the chance to be yours.
if a love was easy if there was an endless sanity that I could hold on to when I touch you

#at first the citizens of star city don't quite know what to make of their mayoral candidate #they know only what the headlines say: 'rich entitled party boy'; 'scion returns to starling after shipwreck'; 'succeeded only at failing' #and almost from the word go there is a debate as to whether or not him making appearances at a community garden #or dressing up as the cat in the hat and reading dr. seuss to kids at an after-school program #or playing a game of pick-up basketball on a new court in the glades are all publicity stunts #so the reporters do what reporters do best: they snoop #what they find shocks them: oliver queen is a normal person #gone is the billionaire playboy with the peter pan attitude; in his place is someone who has a table booked every wednesday at 12:30 #and a warning to the staff at table salt regarding a severe nut allergy #they learn the utilities at the loft where he resides are in his name; the internet is billed to one felicity smoak #(though off the record the company can't figure out how she gets so much traffic out of their basic bandwidth package) #they find he likes walking by the water front with his sister on one side and a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone #not to mention two hand-packed quarts to take home; one is labeled 'felicity' and the second 'felicity this one's mine eat yours' #they learn he went to temple on rosh hashanah and that he spearheaded a campaign to have both a menorah and a tree in december #eventually they learn he's still part peter pan -- as evidenced by the massive snowball fight he participates in one january #they learn he is no lost boy; not from the way he looks at his former EA-turned-CEO: like she's the only home he's ever truly known #they learn how fiercely proud he is of her when he leads a standing ovation for her at a women in technology conference #(even if later he admitted he'd understood every fourth word or so) #they learn he is *that* godfather; the one with 4000 pictures of a sweet faced little girl that he'll show off to anyone #he's *that* godfather who tapes the entire ballet recital and presents his prima ballerina with a bouquet of flowers taller than she is #they learn on the night of the election that oliver queen's coming out a winner regardless of vote tally because felicity smoak said yes #they learn that because of the life he's led -- the quiet dreams once kept to himself that are now being lived out loud --he feels ready to make other people's lives better; will do whatever it takes #they learn he's serious when he and felicity cut their honeymoon short to deal with a crisis #and when it's revealed that he is the hood/arrow/green arrow they learn that the people don't care about his namethe masses that line the streets around the police station chanting 'free oliver queen' only care about *him* #and when he and his wife come to greet the crowd and share a kiss on the steps before he says thank you #they learn that their mayor -- their hero -- is going to be a father #and they vow to help him just as much as he's helped them (via @effie214)
I AM NOT OKAY! THIS IS...THIS IS AMAZING. I love it!
I love how they learn all these things about him. The dinner dates, the ice cream containers, the proud god-father of his ballerina, the man who is filled with more LOVE than they realized.
It’s beautiful, hon, and I can’t thank you enough for writing it.
Just...thank you, bb.
