hey with tr*mp abruptly announcing that they’re ending the census count on september 30, much earlier than originally planned (source, dated August 4, 2020), it’s vitally important that you get your census response in immediately. the census is used to determine how many seats your state gets in the house of representatives and also helps allocate federal funding for schools, roads, hospitals, and fire departments (source 1) (source 2).
it’s just a brief questionnaire, but it’s one of the most important things you can do to help your community right now. hundreds of millions of dollars are on the line, and some states are already poised to lose multiple seats in the house because of low response rates (source). it only takes a couple minutes, so please, consider taking a break and filling it out now!
This is now pretty much the last chance to do this!
And just to reiterate, from someone who has taken it: there are NO questions pertaining to immigrant status (or sexual orientation, if that is a concern.) Little more than name, address, and ethnicity.
please accept my humble zukka offering 🥺🙏🏼
i just want them to have happy domestic times 💕
i did not have a reference for the body poses, so please excuse the mistakes!
YOur senate vote matters just as much, if not more so than your presidential vote. Even if you don’t like Biden, then vote in the Senate
Amy Mcgrath is running against Mitch McConnell in Kentucky
Jaime Harrison is running against Lindsey Graham in South Carolina
Sara Gideon is running against Susan Collins in Maine
Kimberly Graham and Theresa Greenfield are running against Joni Ernst in Iowa
John Hickenlooper is running against Cory Gardner in Colorado
Teresa Tomlinson, Jon Ossoff, and Sarah Riggs Amico are running against David Perdue in Georgia
Mark Kelly is running against Martha McSally in Arizona
Al Gross (Independent) is running against Dan Sullivan in Alaska
Cal Cunningham is running against Thom Tillis in North Carolina
Mj Hegar is running against John Cornyn in Texas
Steve Bullock and John Mues are running in Montana
Barbara Bollier, Usha Reddi, and Robert Tillman are running in Kansas
We also need to protect Doug Jones’ seat in Alabama and Gary Peters’ seat in Michigan
Crooked Media also has a site that allocates donations to the senate campaigns that can make the biggest difference in actually flipping or protecting seats.
Please reblog this, Americans. Keep reblogging until November.
Postcards to Voters helps remind people to vote–before Doug Jones’ election, they had sent a card to every registered Democratic household in Alabama.
Most of these elections won’t be won or lost by convincing anyone to change their mind - they’re won or lost based on who gets to the polls. And they’re rigged; Republicans have worked hard to disenfranchise and discourage anyone who might vote against them.
Dan Sullivan won Alasaka’s senate seat by just over 6,000 votes. The Republican machine is arranged to win on very narrow margins - It doesn’t take much to tip the scales.
Keep the house; flip the Senate; take the White House - and let’s show them what real reform looks like when all three are blue.
It is ESPECIALLY important to get McConnell out. Any progressive legislation ain’t gonna happen while he’s still in charge of the Senate (and by the way, how fucking stupid is our system that these things aren’t AUTOMATICALLY up to vote, but rely upon the Majority Leader putting it on the floor?)
Getting McConnell out of office will literally do more to change this country than getting Trump out. I know that sounds bonkers, but SO MUCH of the damage Trump has wrought is not only because of GOP collaboration but because of Mitch McConnell specifically. McConnell is the reason that the last six years of Obama’s presidency was mired in 1.1-steps-forward-1-step back bullshit; he’s the reason that Congress has passed a record few number of bills this session while confirming a record high number of judges. McConnell is incredibly good at wrangling his caucus, almost as good as Pelosi. He also is an incredibly racist, bigoted, reactionary, evil piece of shit who has been comprehensively fucking over the country for longer than a lot of us have been alive. If we can vote him out — not just make his party a minority but get him the fuck out — we will be able to not only undo some of the harm he’s gleefully inflicted, but actually get liberal and progressive policies through. (And it’s beside the point, but McGrath will be a fantastic senator.)
McConnell desperately needs to go. He has a pile of bills on his desk with a plaque of some kind over it proudly marking it as a sick monument to legislation he won’t allow on the floor. He should not get to call himself a lawmaker any longer, if he’s so goddamn proud of holding back laws. VOTE.
We can get them ALL out, if we all show up. Please, PLEASE vote.

i have a question! as of now, do teenagers and young women still wear hanfu? i know there’s a hanfu revival movement going on, but is it normal to see people wear hanfu or hanfu influenced clothes walking around the street?
Hi, thanks for the question!
I answered part of your question in my reply here, so please check it out! To answer your specific question - yes, because of the hanfu revival movement, more and more teenagers and young women/men are wearing hanfu. I wouldn’t say it’s currently “normal” to see people wearing hanfu or hanfu-influenced clothes walking around the street, but it’s definitely becoming more common and accepted, compared to before. I have a compilation of hanfu street fashion photos in my post here.
Here are some more examples:
It’s not just women - men are in on the trend too!
For more photos/resources, please check out my hanfu movement and street style tags. Hope this helps!
action movie directors really don’t understand that they could write the scariest, toughest, most badass line in movie history, and it still wouldn’t come close to the moment in Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, when viscount mabrey of genovia said, “sir you will find that the word ‘fear’ is not in my vocabulary!!” and joe didn’t even fucking blink before replying, “Perhaps… But it’s in your eyes.”
with all due respect, which is none,
The happiness is strong with this one
Wonder how fast we could crowdfund it.
Didn’t they arrest him?
oh man. he dead…
His name is Edward Crawford.
For real tho. He was hands down murdered by the police. A lot of notable figures from Ferguson were found dead in the same manner and police labeled them all suicides which ,as we all know, is complete and utter bullshit.
If we could get statues of anyone it really is Edward Crawford. If I can get in contact with a sculptor or some shit with permission from Crawford’s family I will set up the Fund Page in a heart beat.
Crawford died in May 2017. Witnesses in the front seat of the vehicle he was in "heard the victim rummaging in the backseat, then heard a gunshot and observed the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head." His death was reportedly attributed to suicide.
In November 2014 on the night a grand jury declined to convict the Ferguson police officer who fatally shot Brown, 20-year-old Deandre Joshua was found shot in the head with severe burns after being lit on fire. Like Seals, Joshua was discovered dead in his own car.
In September 2016, the body of Ferguson activist Darren Seals was discovered inside a burning car. Seals had been shot, and police declared the death a homicide.
Crawford was charged with assault for the tear gas incident, but when asked in 2015, he said he was trying to protect people from the tear gas and that police were 30 or 40 yards away: "I can’t even throw a baseball that far, let alone a burning can of tear gas."
"I didn't throw a burning can back at police," said Crawford, "I threw it out of the way of children."
